Is anybody running wheel spacers?

Winter Wheels: 09 17" stock Silverado steel wheels painted black 315/70R17

For my winter wheels I'm running an One & 1/2 Inch spacer in the front. On the rear I'm running 2 Inch spacer. Trying to keep front & rear wheel base the same. I have to run spacers on the front to not hit the spindle.

Summer wheels: American Racing Rims 20x12 Pro Comp Tires 35x12.50R20

In the summer I run the One & 1/2 Inch spacers in the rear so the wheel base is the same.

I wanna run some on the rear of my truck, but i would need longer studs, unless it was a .750 spacer... which doesn`t do much. OR unless its the fancy ones with the spacer and seperate studs on it. But this summer i may put on some nice wheels so I wait till i get that done.

Your truck looks good!

If you put 1.5" on the rear it will make it equal. The 1.5" spacers have there own studs. You may have to trim stock studs. I bought mine off ebay. The ebay store is

I'd like to add width to the rear to make them look as good (offset wise) as the fronts but I am scared of spacers.

I've never been too fond of spacers myself, but if you have to run them, use the ones that have their own separate studs for mounting the wheel.

Bolts on like a rim.

When using these kind of spacers just think of it as changing the offset of the rim.

Spacers are the BAD! All of the ones I have seen strickly state NOT go over 50MPH and are for off-road use only. I wouldn't use them. They also put more stress on your truck.

... but with a breakable add-on piece behind the wheel. Not for me! I'd rather have custom offset wheels.

How is it more stress? It is the same as running a rim with less backspacing right?

Like anything else, I am sure there are GOOD spacers and not so good spacers actually. The idea of a spacer freaks me out. I don't want anything between my wheels and the hub.
