Is it possible to buy the factory navigation deck that would come in the truck (2009 Silverado) after market besides thru your dealer?? Anyone know how much they would cost thru the dealer? Thanks.

They show up on ebay a lot. The problem is that you can't really avoid the dealer completely because you need them to program the radio to your truck.

You can also purchase them through gmpartsdirect.com. They usually have some of the best prices.

Don't you need the Bose system in order to install the factory Nav? I though that the factory nav has no internal amp, thus the need for the Bose external amp.

Beyond that I have seen these for as little as 500 on eBay. I was about to do it, but go scared off by the chance that it wouldn't work.

If you want the install to be Plug (and program) and Play, then you'll need the Bose system. stevewallace is correct, the factory nav head units have no internal amplifiers.

Steve you are correct. The OE factory NAV radio's only have pre-amp out. If you have a non Bose truck you can still install a factory NAV radio as long as you also install a aftermarket Amp (or OE Bose Amp) as well. Search around you'll find those that have done it and posted about doing it.
