Gents,

I am looking for the build cost for vehicle option VYU on a 2002 Chevy. This is the famous snow plow prep package.

My truck is a 2002 Chevy 2500HD LS Reg Cab 6.0 Auto

Please help me, I am working with insurance right now and the truck was used when I bought it. She got hurt this winter!

Thank you, and the value for any vehicle year is appreciated to give me an approximate.

Regards,

$190.00

Is that it? whats all included in the package?

Perhaps dealer cost or factory cost. Retail should be higher than that....

Yep,That was it.

The "VYU" snow plow prep. package consists of different things for different models and years (IE-1500 vs. 2500,Reg. cab vs. Ext. cab, etc.) But mainly it almost always consists of heavy-duty front springs,a higher amp. alternator, roof lamp provisions, and skid plates.

Nope,Not on the 2500HD/3500's......$190 bucks.

Now on the 1500's it had an MSRP of $285.00

I thought it was $190.00 for the 1500s and $285.00 for the 2500HD/3500HD

not questioning you, just thought it be that way instead of what you quoted. you are after all the parts guru :fume:

I don't know what it is on todays '09 trucks,But those were the prices back in '02.

I would assume it was a little cheaper on the 2500HD/3500 trucks because those already had some of the "VYU" equipment has standard, were as it was optional on the 1500's.

I'll have to look at the window sticker for our '07 GMT900 2500HD parts trucks and see what the VYU package listed for on it.

Wow, thanks a lot guys, that was fast!

Thanks again! I thought it was much more like $500 to $700.

If I ever get this thing resolved I'll post either a praise or a condemnation of my insurance company and a full review of what happened and "lessons learned".

FWIW, CCC Valuescope is a sham!
