Few Updated Truck Pics

Hey yall,

Figured I'd take a share a few photos of my truck with you. I have needed to update because since my last pictures back in the fall I've had quite a few parts added. Let me know what y'all think. I'm out of ideas for upgrades now except for a set of mud tires that I'm saving for. Can you think of anything else I could throw on there? I'm not looking for a tune yet...not until the warranty expires. I'm not sure how a window tint might look. I was toying with the idea of having the dealer replace the rear window with a sliding window just as a convenience thing if I can't think of anything else.

Here she is about as clean as you can keep a truck in the the country. :)

And she likes to play in the mud every now and then too.

Looks good, I'd say go for tinted windows. That's the first thing I did when I got my truck. What about exhaust or intake? I wouldn't have the dealer replace the back window, just so they don't break that factory seal.

That's probably pretty good advice about the factory seal. I'm glad I asked about it. :)

There's a truck shop in town that does all kinds of work that I've given buisness to. I know one of their specialties is window tinting so I might look into it.

I've got a Flowmaster Super 40 for exhuast right now.

Off the top of my head, current upgrades are:

Swapped all black for chrome/body color front end

Bug Shield

Window Visors

GM Wheel Well Liners

GM Bedliner

DeeZee Bed Rail Covers

Flowmaster Super 40

I also added a GM hitch and there might be one or two more that I can't think of right now.

Looks good how much did it cost ya to swap the WT front out for the color...I am looking into doing it but I have not made the jump yet.

I believe the WT front end swap was about $930 but I went with the semi-expensive route because I didn't know any better.

I had the local dealer install it for me. Your biggest amount of expense goes into parts. Looking at my estimate right now I've got $635 in parts, 2.1 hours Labor=$84, 2.6 hours Paint Labor=$104, Paint Supplies=$60.

I got my grill off eBay from a dealership in Florida for $135 I think. The dealership around here wanted $320 for it. Then the chrome bumper was $346.24, and the primed endcaps w/o foglights were $144.20 each.

I made the smart move of getting the grill from eBay but I messed up with the other parts and paid more than I needed to by getting them straight from the dealer. Looking back, I'm sure I could've had them a lot cheaper even from GMPartsDirect. If you got all the parts yourself I wouldn't be surprised if the total price dropped below $800-$700.

New wheels could be another option. I like these wheels just because they're steel and can take a bit more of this kind of punishment than aluminum wheels. What kind of price do a set of steel wheels go for?

Back in July of '08 I got fed up with waiting for the GM Fog Light Kit to come out so I just went ahead and had the front end without fogs installed. Do y'all think I could improve appearance with the new fog light kit that has come out or does it look OK with out them?

I know they're not the best pictures and I'll try and get some better ones soon.

So do you have your stock black front end?

Yeah, I've got it sitting in a box in the garage right now.

mine has a dent i need a new one  is yours a shiny black for dule? sorry im talkin about the bumber ( the piece that is between the plastic and the grill)

I couldn't tell you for sure if it's shiny like they would come painted for black LTZ trucks or not. It is just like the one in Justin M.'s signature up at post #4 though. I know it has a couple of pencil tip sized rust spots in it but I imagine they could be covered up pretty easily with touch up paint.

I believe the fella that's been posting here lately that works in the area that they make the bumpers at a Chevy plant has said something about the chrome/painted bumpers being tougher against scratches than the WT ones. I think he said the WT bumpers are only powder-coated. I may be wrong though and I apologize if I'm thinking of the wrong person.
