Here is a double ouch for Dale Jr, from NA$CAR.com

TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s winning car failed

post-race inspection following Sunday's EA Sports 500 at

Talladega Superspeedway.

The car was measured as being an eighth-inch under the

required 51-inch minimum height from the roof of the car to

the ground, NASCAR spokeswoman Danielle Humphrey

announced some two hours following the conclusion of the

188-lap event.

She also said Earnhardt Jr. did not jump on the roof during his

Victory Lane celebration.

"In situations like this in the past, NASCAR has let the winner

keep the win, but assessed heavy penalties, both money and

points," said Jim Hunter, NASCAR vice president for corporate

communications.

Well, I'm sure people like Jimmy Spencer will have a field day talking about this one.  He was the first to say Daytona was fixed.

Yeah, I wish this wouldn't of happened.  I read that the car

was around 1/8" too low, so that really sucks.  The car could

have easily settled that much during 500 miles of racing, and

there is not much you can do about that.  The car had to of

been legal before the race because it passed pre-race

inspection.  What really sucks is that it will be just like

Daytona where Dale Jr just flat kicked butt, and people who

don't know better will claim he only won because he cheated.

I wish that hadn't happened also.

He's still the man!  After watching how he's run the plate tracks this year, I'd say he learned a thing or two from  his  daddy.
