07 Nbs Tailgate.

My tailgate won't always latch,sometimes you have to almost slam it to close, sometimes the handle has to be pushed while closing. It has fallen open a couple of times. Service Dept. at my dealer says to spray WD-40 or something similiar in the latches. I spray it a couple of times a week. Still wish it would close better. plowking

Mine's the opposite way, it'll shut perfect but it's a beeyotch to open...Tried everything from WD-40 to industrial grade grease, after 10-15 opens it starts getting stuck...

i had this issue on my 03 HD. its the handle, i tried everything to get it lubed up again. the only thing you can do is to replace the handle. they are CHEAP on ebay and you can get a new bezel along with it (mine was 11 bucks shipped) and it took me 10 mins to install.

You can adjust the latch pins on the truck, FYI. My tailgate would not latch on the passenger side so I adjusted the pin and now it closes perfectly. Just loosen it slightly and nudge it where you think it should help, then tighten it back down.

Thanks,I'll try that,my truck has a spray in bed liner. It might have been adjusted once already because liner makes the bed thicker where it closes. plowking

Mine popped badly when you opened it when I first got the truck. I adjusted it and haven't ever had another problem.
