when i got my exhaust done my muffler man said that pipe was a 3" stainless steel. yeah that muffler will work if the stock pipe is 3" or just to be safe you could get a 2.75" inlet and if its too small you could always get the end swelled up a lil to make it fit at a muffler shop. because the muffler on mine it was only a 2.25" i think or maybe a 2" and he swelled the inlet to fit my stock pipe and 2.5" outlets but after thinking about it the stock pipe seems alot bigger than a 2.5" so it probably is 3"

Pretty sure the stock piping is 2.75", not 3". Most muffler companies don't make mufflers with 2.75" inlets and outlets, so a 3" in/out is your best bet (it's pretty easy to make up that extra 1/4", it's only an 1/8" gap all around that the weld has to fill).

+1

I would rather go 3in even if the pipe is 2.75. It's not hard to adapt and why would you want to create another restriction point.

Go with the 3in

On the GMT-800 the Stock pipe is 2-3/4 inch with a 2-3/4 inch tail pipe. On the GMT-900 the stock pipe is 3 inch and a 2-3/4 inch tail pipe. Unless it's a 4.3 liter then it will have a 2-3/4 inch pipe all the way.
