E-fans And Turn Downs

I was looking into putting e-fans in and have heard people finding them on ebay but I can't find any. Any help on search words or what to look for? Are the flex-a-lite kits really worth the 500 plus dollars?? Also I'm pretty sure it will need to be re-tuned so the e-fans will work but the guy who tunes my truck is over 30 minutes away. Will I have to get them installed there so he can retune it at the same time or will I be able to drive it without overheating for the 30 minute drive? Also I want to get rid of the tips coming out of the back of the truck. There getting pretty hard to keep clean and It would just be easier to cut the pipe after the muffler then put some turn downs there. heres a pair i found on jegs...looks like they would work right???Turn Downs

E-Fans are great my truck has them from the factory. And any muffler shop can make turn downs for you.

As far as the truck having to get tuned to work with them...can you just install them and wire them so they run as soon as you turn the truck on? That way you can drive to the tuner.

thats another thing I'm not sure how hard or easy they are to install....anyone shed some light if you've installed them?

To use the OEM fans you need the larger radiator, i do not think the 04 trucks have a pin in the PCM to program the fan. You can just buy an adjustable controller kit and use a C5 Corvette fan system like i did.

any one else have some imput on the fans or the turndowns

I've had a flex-a-lite 292 dual fan unit installed on my 02 for a few years now. I like the openess that it gives the engine comparment more than anything. You'll be surprised just how little it runs in cooler months too. I've towed a mustang 3 hours on a car trailer w/ this setup and the temp needle held rock steady. Flex-a-lite also uses a variable speed control module instead of tapping into your coolant sensor...it works great. It wasn't cheap though and I didn't install it to save fuel.

just have a muffler shop do the turn down. shouldn't be more than $20, especially if you can take off the old pipes before hand. might be able to sell your old tips and actually come out ahead on the deal.
