Well my ball joint started squeeking and i tried gresing it up but still it squeeks. So this means that i have to raplace it which sucks beascuse this will take a few hours. But what are you going to do.

If you're greasing it with the wheels on the ground, you might try lifting that wheel and see if you get better distribution. Sometimes old grease will get hard and block the path to where fresh grease needs to go. But, more than likely it's time to replace your ball joints. How are the rubber boots on the joints?

they look like they are in good shape. i supose i could lifting it up and trying to greaseing it.

I wondered that too. Could be control arm bushings.

I've never heard of ball joints squeaking. They just wear out, get loose and break. The only squeaking noises I've ever heard were caused by springs or control arm bushings.

Ball joints can squeak too, believe me.

Yep, kind of sucks, so grab a cool, some grease, and git 'er lubed up!

1st generation S10 / Sonoma trucks were prone to front coils squeaking too. Never had it happen on a truck but my 89 S Blazer had the problem. I used to have to lube the bottom of the spring to get it to stop. You might also consider that a shock can make a pretty bad squeak as well...

had the same problem before and when i lubed the lower ball joint up it stoped.Now i lubed it and it is still doing it. Last time though it took a good days worth of driving over rough roadsfor the squeek to go away so i will wait for a while. also How would i lube the bushings?

Try spraying and soaking the bushings with silicone lube. They sell them in a spray can in any auto parts store.

thanks. Replacing the ball joint would not be that big of an issue, i work at a shop that has the tools and a guy i work with has the know how. it would just be a pain becuse you have to take the entire front suspension off that side of the truck. so ill try the bushings

after driving around for a while running some arrons the squeek went away, so now i just hope it dosent come back. thanks for all the help.

Maybe grease it a little more often. Might help keep it from getting a dry spot.
