I have it on the front of the car.

It has been good did what it was advertised to do.

There is not one rock chip in the paint in 54,000 miles.

Ive seen them many time and my truck has it installed and I don't see a single rock chip yet. It's a 2006 sierra.

If the tape begins to go yellow on you, just get some decent wax and do a good job on it. Restores the clear color.

:D I had the dealer put the 3M tape shield on the flat portion of the rocker panels (the underneath side) and also on the front of the rear fender flare and on the lower portion of the rear fender behind the tire. It is standing up amazingly well. I drive on a lot of dirt and gravel roads but only have 11,000 miles on the pickup so time will tell but so far I am glad it is installed.

I have https://www.xpel.com/default.asp on my 2008 SD. You need to think about this besides rock chips. I had a person rub up on my truck. The full front bumper along with the headlights were covered. The film saved me from repainting the front bumper along with having to replace the headlight capsule which alone was approx $350. So I was looking at approx $650 to fix both. To redo the film was $300 and I didn't have to repaint or replace any parts on the truck, just the film.

I have it on my headlights and front bumper, great stuff. I put it on myself, easy to do if you take your time and read the directions.

Thanks for all the feedback! Anyone have any pictures? I'm on the highway a lot and those rock haulers are ALWAYS losing rocks. I would probably want what you have covered takevin, mainly the headlights bumper and maybe the front of the hood. Anyone know the best place to buy?? Thanks again!!!

There are a lot of Loose Aggregate Conveyance Operators,:idiot: (sometimes know as rock haulers), around the DFW area too.

You may want to consider putting it on your outside mirrors also to keep them from getting chipped up.

3-M also makes a EXTRA HEAVY film for the headlights.

I found a couple of local installers and had them bid against each other. :fume:

Here are a couple pics of 3M on my wife's Enclave. I had the same done on my Denali just no pics. We have been THRILLED with the performance. I have seen rock pelt the hood and a finger wipe eliminated any mark. Great stuff!

The edge is more easily seen on the red of my denali but it is not even noticeable unless you are looking for it.

I have had it on my bumper, and rockers for over a year. Looks good, still! Very pleased.

+1. This stuff is awesome. You can hardly tell it's there, looks way better than one of those plastic shields. I have it on the leading edge of the hood, grille, front bumper and front of mirrors. Have had this installed on the truck for almost a year and no marks at all. It really helps in love bug season, for a couple of weeks a year down here if the bug guts stay on your paint for a day in the hot sun the acid eats right through the clear coat and leaves permanent marks. I still wash the bugs off right away, but it adds a layer of protection. Also great for preventing rock chips. I didn't have this film on my last vehicle, an 07 Trailblazer SS, and it was chipped up within 6 months of daily highway driving. If you go to the 3M website, follow the links for paint protection film and enter your zip code, you will find installers in your area.
