Getting Serviced

haha, now that I have everyone's attention.

 

So, my local GMC dealership went tango uniform (ch.11); however, there is a local chevy dealership, but I was wandering how familiar do you think chevy techs will be with a GMC? I understand the Sierra and Silverado are identical trucks just with different clothing, but would you expect the services to be the same? I have had experience with this dealership once...they are an All State recommended body shop. They replaced the chrome bumper and lower valence on my truck and color matched the silver birch perfectly. And generally, they actually seemed more friendly than the techs at the GMC dealership.

 

And on another note, I have searched high and low for color matched mirrors and door handles for the truck. Any suggestions? I especially would like integrated turn signals in the mirror. Even gmpartsdirect doesn't show either. Are there painted tailgate handles as well? Obviously, I am just ignorant and haven't learned to read yet, so maybe one of you GM experts can help me out. 2006 GMC 1500 CCSB, 2wd SLE2

General service can be handled professionally by the Chevy store. Same exact trucks. Warranty work may be a different story. You'll have to ask if they are capable of picking up the warranty work since the GMC store went tits up.

 

Maybe somebody else will chime in on the color matched stuff. I know a lot of guys in here have been having theirs painted.

I have a Graystone color 2006 crew cab and you can get graystone door handles through a Chevy dealer. I think those are the same body color door handles they use on SUVs such as Suburban, Tahoe, etc. I do not know what all colors are available, but the one's for my truck are.

 

If you know the part number, you can probably find them on gmpartsdirect.com too.
