Bulding Up The 5.3l

I have heard there is a way to build up to 5.3L to match the specs and basically be a 6.0L Vortec Max but what performance parts would i need to really boost horsepower and torque??

 

 

By the way with enough performance parts is the 5.3L capable of 350 horsepower and 400 ft LBS of torque?

True, but you really need to beef up the tranny, or get a 4L80

Yeah i wanted to build it up to those specs without using a supercharger or turbo.

 

 

I have come up with cams stall converter 4.10 Gears full bolt ons Custom tune Etc...

 

I would think that would put the horsepower well over 300 wouldnt it and that would be pushing close to 400 FT lbs of torque?

350rwhp 400rwtq or flywheel?

 

350rwhp @ 400rwtq is going to be tougher N/A. Flywheel is pretty easy as the 5.3's are 295-315hp stock.

 

Proven mods are..... CAI, ASP underdrive pulley, ported throttle body, catback, longtube hearders, cam

 

5.3L 4x4 trucks are usually in the 305-330rwhp range with these mods and 325-345rwtq. This equates to 375-400flywheel hp and torque.

 

Add a set of better heads and 350rwhp can be reached.
