Adding Badging To My Truck

Here is what I say today. A dark green 800 CC, with the 900 "Silverado" letters on the door. It looked fantastic.

 

Anyway, I am considering doing that to my truck (), but am wondering how they apply that at the factory. I have a very hard time believing that they do each letter by hand...that seems like there would be too much room for error. Is there a special way (or device) of applying those letters so that they are all straight? And does anyone know how much they cost? If it ios more than like $50.00 for both sides I probably won't do it.

they should come stuck to a backing so that you apply all of the letters at one time. At least that is how it is done in the decal business.

Actually, I believe the letters all come together on a single application sheet.

 

Yep, here's an image of how you'd get them. All you'd do is peel the backing off and adhere them all at once.

 

 

Plenty of them on eBay. I searched for "Silverado emblem".

Don't do it, I would have debadged my truck but, I have a WT and so no molding on doors. I need it, you don't.

Wow...I thought I would get much more of a verbal lashing...

 

The only thing I am concerned about is the fact that I already have those chrome, shiny thingies below my door moulding. I am wondering if it would be too much...

I think that would look just fine, honestly. I've seen a couple of the 800 Tahoes around with 900 badging on them, they look nice.

Finally a man that recognizes that all these badges will be collectable someday and is stocking up now. Those guys that de-badged will be at your door willing to do anything to get your badges. Watch yourself.
