NASCAR Pit Crew Helmets

In light of the recent events, and the recent poll I saw on RPM 2 Night I thought I would start a similar poll here.  

 

Basically because I'm bored and I'm trying to avoiding writing my Philosophy paper.

 

So here it is.....  Should NASCAR Mandate Helmets for Pit Crews?

I don't see why they didn't mandate them after the Rudd incient 11 years ago.

I think the helmets are a good thing, so I'd recommend their usage, but not go all the way and require them.

 

I'm thinking we'll be seeing more and more of them after last weekend though.  Bet BDR pit crews will have them on before long.

Wearing a helmet wouldn't have done that crewman much good.  From my understanding, he was basically crushed by the car.

 

I voted to strongly recommend the use of helmets.  I think that after last week, most team members will start wearing helmets.  So I don't see a need to mandate them.

I say mandate them immediately.  Can't be too cautious as far as i'm concerned.

I don't want to see a driver held up in the pits due to a "loose helmet strap" penalty.

Should NASCAR Officials wear them, too? What about pit reporters and cameramen(although they aren't actually on pit road)? Anyone across the wall?

Until NASCAR mandates fireproof driving suits and gloves, they shouldn't mandate pit crew protection.
