Subwoofer Position?

Has anyone here just put one sub in their regular cab truck?

If you have...have you experimented with forward-facing and backward-facing? Which one sounds & looks better? I'm a little worried that backward-facing will rattle the shyte out of the plastic trim back there.

Forward facing will have more impact but if the sub is crossed over at the proper frequencies it is non directional. If done right nobody should be able to point at the sub.

i have an 8 inch sub in the middle (right behind the jump seat) facing forward... works fine for me, no rattle, looks cool.

Where did you put the amplifier? I'm thinking on the back of the box, but won't get much ventilation there...

i made a box myself.. the box is the width of the truck, the top of the box sits just under where the plastic starts, and its angled toward the back of the truck. i have the sub in the middle, and the amp sits on the box behind the passenger seat.

ill be replacing it with this setup eventually....
