Ok I have contacted a few dealers (one local and one up north from where I am originally from) about a 2009 Silverado. I gave them the specs (I know there are not alot of trucks out there with the 6.2) and I basically get ignored. I guess they must not be hurting that bad. This is the response I received (after my intitial contact 1 week prior) yesterday

Don't give up on us. We have some unfolding incentives that we need to verify before pricing out a vehicle for you.

Thanks for your patience

WTH is this?

It is kind of frustrating, I guess I know why I ordered my 00 silverado and 08 tahoe.

Weird. When I bought my truck, they were more than willing to locate a truck that fit what I wanted. I believe they looked within a 150 mile radius. Maybe things went downhill since 2 years ago

I have found that the internet "staff" at most dealerships consists of the one guy that actually knows how email works. Not the swiftest bunch of people... car salesmen. There area few really sharp guys but as with anything else, the majority are just lost.

Internet quotes are viewed pretty poorly by most dealers. Many figure you are just a typical "shopper" and pay little attention to price requests.

WOW. That changes things. That's just not good service huh? I can understand them not being eager to respond to an anonymous internet price shopper but not a repeat customer. That's just not right.

I noticed this too. I went to about 6 or 7 dealer both GM and Ford. Most didn t seem too interested, although a few did, but not very aggressive with price. Almost seemed like they knew they weren t going to be there much longer .

My truck came from 175 miles away (dealer located). And I was told they weren t sure the other dealer would cooperate. ????

Have you tried the 'vehicle locator' on the chev or GMC site? You can enter a zip and find trucks that (roughly) meet your req'ts.

I've had luck doing that, then contacting the dealer who has the truck of interest to see if he'll play nice, or if not, giving the info to a preferred sales guy and telling him to see if he can get the truck.

Doesn't always work, but many dealers are paying interest on trucks that aren't moving. I've heard that they won't ask another dealer for a trade in some cases.

When I bought my 2003 2500HD, a dealer 120 miles from me had EXACTLY the truck I wanted. He wouldn't trade it to a local dealer to shorten my drive, but he gave me almost a grand more on my trade. $1000 for 4 hours of driving to/from his place (with one leg of the trip in my brand new truck) was pretty good pay in my book!

It is a PITA it would be nice if you could search by options and not just style (crewcab LTZ)

I would only consider a truck with the 6.2 and guess what I have spent a few hrs on the locator unable to find anything, it would be great to search by that it would speed things up considerably.

Ryan...Send me a PM with your zip code, some "must have" options you want, and your color choice (s) and I'll see what I can find.

Since you want the 6.2 I can tell you want a crew-cab LTZ (Since thats the only way you can get the 6.2 for now)

I can't believe the arrogance of some dealerships. I've ran across that before too where the dealerships just don't care.

updated: I received a call from the local salesman, I missed the call because I was up at the hospital visiting a friend.

??? dont know I need to give him details.

After talking with Rich there are only 3 trucks like this (6.2) within 250mls. None are a 100% match one is close but no cigar yet
