THE SILVER AND BLACK IS BACK

 

Childress unveiled the new color scheme for the No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet for next season. The Monte Carlo closely resembles the car Dale Earnhardt drove, but Childress says retaining the No. 29 will allow driver Kevin Harvick to establish his own identity. "We've been with GM Goodwrench now for 16 years," Childress says. "Our cars have been black and silver, which are their colors. So we went back with that. The 29 is Kevin's number and the number he's making famous today." Look for Childress to petition NASCAR to retire the No. 3 in the near future. If the request is vetoed, Childress says he would place a permanent moratorium on the trademark.

 

 

 

I'm assuming that this means there can still be a #3, just not in the same design if Childress does this. Anybody know if I'm right?
