I hope it does,I am sure even though the GMC sales #'s are lower than chevrolet they probably sell more GMC trucks and SUV's than many other models of cars!!

Let Chevy make cars, mini vans and small SUVs

Let GMC make trucks and big SUVs

The Silverado brand sells way more trucks than Sierra's. They'd never let that go. But I've got my GMC, so if they go away, it'd be sad... but it's not like I'm buying another truck anytime soon!

Like has already been said, the Silverado sells MUCH more units than the Sierra.

Right now, GM needs to take a very hard look at all of their brands and ask one simple question...why? Why do we need GMC, or Pontiac, or Buick? DO they serve enough of a niche market to justify their existence? And with GMC, I think the answer would be a resounding NO!

Think about it, what does a Sierra do that a Silverado cannot do? Personally, I like the GMC trucks better than the Chevys, but now is not the time to let emotion dictate what GM does.

Answer: Get me in the showroom with my checkbook in hand.

GMC is one of the few brands of GM that actually makes money on it's vehicles. Killing it would become the all-time stupidest move GM has ever made.

Well, there is that.

And, no, the all time stupidest move GM has made was not offering a Chevrolet version of the Lambdas at launch.

True, but that's because they haven't actually killed off GMC yet. Duh!

Since GMC and Chevrolet are built along the same assembly process and don't require that many "different" parts, there is absolutely no reason to kill anything (especially since GMC is one of the most profitable product lines). I'm sure vehicles like the Solstice / Sky that cost a lot to build and sell in small numbers have a lot more to worry about than the GMC anything.

As much as it PAINS me to do so................... I have to agree with Jeff on this one.

The Sierra got me on the lot and in the seat. As an aside, if the Denali line hadn't been around, I probably still wouldn't have bought one... I had no idea how much "choking" GM did to the performance of these trucks. So, to me, the 315hp 5.3L and the 367hp 6.0L just didn't "feel" like that much power. Thinking back, I now wonder if it was that really low first gear in the 6-speed that made the difference for me. :wtf:

Back to the story, though... My Sierra is the first GM vehicle I have ever owned. So, I wasn't sold on GM or "having" to have a GM product at all, of any brand. If the Silverado had been the only GM pickup, I would've kept looking for some other vehicle and probably not bought GM at all, which would've never led me here...

Damn you GM!!! :D:lol:
