Backspacing For Wheels With Body Lift

Recommended Posts

I was originally thinking about using my stock rims with my 295's but I have a feeling it might look tall and narrow. After looking over the backspacing and doing some studying I don't know what backspacing or offset I need. I tried the wheel/calculator and it said a wheel with a backspacing of 4.5" would stick out 2.5 inches further. Isn't that a lot? I would like the tire/wheels to match the oem fender flares on a 05 Z71. Please help.

my wheels have a 4.75 in backspacing and a -6mm offset. theyre also 17x9 on a 305/70/17 tire. they dont stick out much if at all. i have basically your truck.

Thanks! That looks just right to me. Too far out and you start getting rock chips in the paint etc.. My 295's will be a little narrower than the 305's but this is a good gauge for me.
