Question About Lower Valence On The Outside Mirrors ..

I have an 08' Sierra work truck and wondering two things .. 1.) The cadillac chrome lower mirror valence thing, can they be installed on sierras? and 2.) That textured lower valence on the mirrors that comes stock on the sierra's, mine has a scratch on it, are those replaceable? i know the top mirror cover can be removed by pulling it off .. is this the same for the lower part? thanks

I messed with a couple a while ago, they are changable but it is a bit more involved than the top covers. If I remember correctly you have to basically dissassemble the mirror to get the bottom off. I may be wrong, I cant remember exactly.

The lower peice comes off just as easily as the upper. In fact, many find it easiest to remove both as a unit and then separate them once they are off. The trick I found was to use a small screwdriver but not as small as a jewelers because when it is too small it tends to leave marks as opposed to the broader surface area of a small regular screwdriver. You just work your way around the seam. It will seem like nothing is happening at first but opens up quite easily once it gets going.
