Fire Fighter Roll Call

Hi

 

I see there is a few fire fighters on this board and I just wanted to say hi and see where you are and what you do as a FF; career or volunteer, structure or wildland.

 

I am a Volunteer FF, have been for ~7 years. I was 2 years as a FF, 2 years as a Lieutenant, 1 year as a Captain before moving to the department I am at now, the Port McNeill Volunteer Fire Department, where I am a lieutenant and the training officer. We have 26 members, all are Volunteer, we attend ~ 85 calls a year, most are MVA's with a few structure and grass fires and water rescues.

 

We have an 07 Superior Pumper with Benz desiel power, an 86 Fort Garry Pumper, an 88 Chev rescue cube van w/diesel power which will be replaced in Oct with an 09 walk around rescue truck w/ Benz diesel power (cab the same as our 06 pumper). Cannot wait for that baby!!!!

 

I work for the BC Forest Sevice and I am also a Wildland FF and a Strike Force Team leader during the summer.

Hey brotha!

 

I am a Firefighter/EMT here in Minnesota...just south of St. Paul. I will be going on three years in August. I have just completed IV training, so I can administer IVs to patients. We are a paid-on-call department.

 

I serve my city of about 40K for fire protection and then our Ambulance service encompasses my city and two smaller cities that we share a border.

 

I have also just completed the Minnesota Peace Officer training and am currently looking for a job.

 

So, I have my feet in the EMS/POLICE/FIRE pool. Lots of fun.

Volunteer FF here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Been in the serivce for 12 years or so and still enjoying every minute of it. Visit my depts website for more details (www.oakhillfire.com). We run about 60 calls year with 5 peices of equipment.
