So yea, before i bought my truck i was looking on sites doing my homework before i went to the dealer, and I saw an 05 silverado with what looked like a factory navigation. The same nav that comes in the 05 Avalanches. My question is that if my truck is already equiped with sat radio and onstar can i plug and play a navigation system from an avalanche to my truck w/o having to run wires and pull out alot of interior trim?

question: does your truck have the console in it or is it equipped with the jump seat? Reason is if it has the console, it is going to be harder and there will be more involved. You will need to install some additional cables...

it's simple plug and play but would require you to have the bose audio system because the nav head unit from the factory doesnt have an amp in it .

+1 on the amp (forgot about the factory Nav HU not being amplified).

My truck does have the bose soundsystem, and the center console.....i guess that answers my question. i was thinking i would be able to just pull my old HU out and put the GM Nav HU in. was not really wanting to pull carpet or run alot of wires

I would think if you have Bose and the center console(Bose amp is in the console) it will be plug and play, except getting the VIN lock cleared if it is a used unit. Make sure you get the right head unit, not the luxury model. Here's some pics when I put one in my 04 Avalanche.
