Window Motor

How do you uninstall/remove a 94 GMC Suburban driver side window motor? I have the door partial taken apart but it appears the wiper motor is riveted. I also noticed the mechanics of inside of door are attached and I am not sure on how to undo the pieces without messing up the door. I am not mechanically inclined so I need some basic instruction if possible or is this best left up to a professional mechanic? Thanks in advance.

Well some people are just not good at this stuff and would be best to have a mechanic do it.

If you want to learn, I would suggest going to a wrecking yard and removing a motor on a vehicle there. I would use a cordless drill to get the rivets out.

If you can't do it at the wrecking yard, then no harm done. (They are going to squish these vehicles up anyway...)

BTW - I am good at doing this stuff, but I am hopeless at doing other things like playing musical instruments or learning foreign languages! I just can't do it! (So I leave that to others :D )

Like Bil said, drill out the rivets, very common for MFGs to use 'em in new cars & trucks, then when you put in the new motor use a bolt, nut and lock washer....
