Trailer Registration

I am in the market to purchase a small utility trailer (aprx 4'x8'). One area I am not familiar with is registering it. From what I gathered online, depending on the weight there are different fees, and sometimes a title is required. Now, the predicament: I am a NH resident (NH driver's license) but I go to school in Michigan (current location). I have found a couple trailers on craigslist that look decent, but I need to know some things before purchasing. Do I need a title from them, any kind of signature on paper for sale? Who would I try to register it with, Michigan or New Hampshire? Being a small utility trailer I'm sure it will be on the low end of weight.

In Ca. and AZ.there is a title issued on trailers,prolly in most states.Once registered it is called a PT(I think) where the tag is only payed once,then when it's in your name you never have to pay again.I have a small 4x8 trailer also,it has a drop down gate that is also a ramp..nice when loading heavy objects.I ride my bikes right up into it when going for the day only.
