Nimnight chevrolet salesman told us that a 2500 LT quadsteer w/3.73 rearend would pull a 10,000lb camper, fifthwheel ALL day long....since have found they lied....we are in need of a lower gear ratio since we bought this truck...Beware of Nimnight dealerships in Jacksonville,Florida on Cassat Ave. They'll tell you a lie when the truth was a better story.....If this was last dealership open in florida I'd...hate to say it...buy a ford
or a ddodge....now weve found it wont pull it....the sales manager only wants to charge us $4500 to fix the lie...no wonder taxpayers own 60% of gm now

So...since you didn't research enough, and believed a used car salesman, GM is at fault for this?

How long have you had the truck. All sales are not final for 3 days. You could have taken it back in the 3-day period.

Yeah...your fault. The salesman could of just relayed bad info he got, right to you. Always perform your own research.

I wouldn't say stupid at all. You just have to know that most salesmen will tell you what you want to hear to make a sale, be it true or false, or even hear-say. You're right, it feels pretty crappy. It has happened to me a couple times. Just can't trust anyone these days and that really sucks. I will say that you can buy gears online, then have them installed for about 1100-1500 total. Might be an option. Afterall, it is 3000 - 3400 cheaper then their "fix."

Good luck!

I never research myself. I've been dealing with me for 33 years. I just go with my gut feeling.

My gut feeling would be that 10,000 lbs on a 2500 with 3.73 gears is that this is not enough truck no matter what the salesman said.

HAHA, shut-up! I fixed it. I also just shined up my truck badges. JUST for YOU!

What is the limiting factor?

Tongue weight?

5th wheel hitch clearing rear center section?

Bed length?
