beboswell Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I'd like to hear you guys' experiences replacing your seat cover materials with the custom order premade online guys. I'd like to do a nice leather / suede upgrade, but I want it to look top notch. I'm interested in hearing how the fit was and how hard the install was. Of course pics would be outstanding!

davzog Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I have an 07 classic hd2500 that came with cloth seats...LT1 I decided I wanted leather and found a guy on ebay selling a slew of aftermarket leather full sets that are installed by dealers....great quality and fit well....$400 for the set. Anyway, the total install took four days.....I took off the third day because my finger tips hurt so bad I could hardly touch anything.....ugh. Admittedly, I had never done upholstery before and had no idea what I was in for.....now I could probably do it in a single day....patience, patience, patience. The hardest part was trying to figure out how all the seats came apart after I got them out.... It has been two years and it still looks like new....I am very happy with the results. Would I do it again??? sure....hope that helps.
Outbacker Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I replaced mine with Katzkin, and could not be happier. They have excellent support and are quite comfortable. The stitching is clean and uniform, and overall an great product. And the fit to the seats was perfect. My service manager saw them and commented that they look better then any OEM leather seats covers they sell, and a better fit. Highly recommended.
