Signal Wire For Aftermarket Amp

Recommended Posts

I have read numerous posts, and tried splicing in where others have had luck, but isnt working out for me. I have the wire spliced into yellow wire on blue connector by the brake pedal. I get power to the amp but wont push the speaker. I have tried splicing to numerous diff places with no luck. If I just touch the wire to any fuse in the side of the dash it comes on and works no problem. I dont understand why I can get the signal but it wont push the speakers.... The truck is an 08 Silverado LT2 with Bose.

i had the same problem but i tapped into the yellow wire behind the stock deck so it turns on and off now... before i had the same problem as you so i said screw it and put a jumper wire from the positive wire on the amp to the remote wire and just un hooked it at the end of the day

So it works properly now or you still have the jumper wire on the amp?

Use a test light, if you don't have one, in AutoZone you can get it for less than $10, You have a couple option to connect your amp, the first one, and correct one is using your "remote control" or "Antenna" wire (normally blue or blue/white), that will have +12V when your radio is On, or in case that you can not find it or not working, you can use any 12V switched, that's mean, when your switch is in accessories or run, you will have +12V, and by consequence will turn on your Amp. To identify either cable, turn on your radio and connect your clamp from the testing light to ground, touch with the sharp point the cable that you think is the one, if the lamp illuminate you have 12 volts there, turn off your radio and your light should be off.
