Important Tire Size Question? Need Help!

Ok guys, what do you think? 33 looks too small, 35 looks too big.

What are my options? Maybe 33's with a really aggressive tread

design? 35's just seem to look too big. Im way stumped on this one.

Well you seem to have figured it out with your own post.... just go with 34s

In all seriousness, it depends on what tires you're looking at... some 35" tires measure over 35", which would look too big whereas other measure close to 34"(like a 315/70/17 BFG). And on the same note, some 33" tires measure over 33" (like my PJ dirt grips that measured 34") and some are tiny and would look too small.

Choose a tire you like first, then figure out the size.

I still have 33" tires on my fabtech lift (because they havent worn out yet) and I have never once had anyone come up to me and say damn you need bigger tires on this truck. I get nothing but love for this thing. I have also never had so many people comment on my vehicles as they have with this truck its gone over so well. If you put on a set of 33x12.5s or 305/55s you will be fine with 5" lift, I honestly think it would be PERFECT.

Since the fabtech is a bit bigger than 5" I am going to make the switch to 35s when these tires wear out. BUT with that said im goin to also regear the truck and do the 1.5" body lift all at the same time. (I like the room I have now with the 33s, just want a little more tire for off-road)

Get 33's if your not going any higher, it will look great and you wont need to regear the truck. I have 3.73s and I already dont like the big difference in power and highway driving with the 33's on, and I definately wouldnt leave the gearing stock with 35's. There are some guys on here with 3.73s and 35s and I think they are ok but I am pretty sure that they feel like it needs regeared...

My point was that some 33s run small and others run true. So a true or + sized 33 would work just as well as a 35 that runs small. Not that "33s" are too small for that amount of lift

For instance my 305/55/20s are huge for a 33, they'd look perfect with 5-6" of lift. But to arbitrarily say 33s are too small and 35s are too big is not a valid statement.

Exactly.. I often make the mistake of just assuming that when someone says 33 they mean 33x12.5 or 305/55 which is why i decided to specify actual sizing..
