Photo Request: Gm Windshield Solvent Heater

If anyone has the time, could you please take some photos of the stock GM windshield solvent heater and any connecting tubes and wires in their trucks? I am trying to graft one into my truck, and would like to mount it in the same position that GM mounts it. I want to use the HotShot heater, which from what I understand, is the same model GM used in their trucks before the recall.

The heater GM used isn't available since the heater caused fires and the company went bankrupt. If you have an OEM heater i wouldn't put it on your vehicle or you may be finding you r truck on fire some day.

I'm using the fuse they added to prevent the fires.

Microheat made the heater are not in business anymore. I wouldnt take the risk of having one of there products on a vehicle. GM didnt.

I think it's actually on the firewall, near the center.

you might be able to rig up a DC powered heater to work. Or just start buying washer fluid mixed with DE Icer

While I totally understand why folks would be hesitant to use that heater on their vehicles, I will say that I use the one on my truck ALL the time and have never had a single issue with it. I do have the post-recall "fuse" in the wiring harness on my truck, so I'm not too worried about it honestly.

I have some TYPE 1 anti ice that we use on our airplanes that might work.

Steaming hot fluid works like you'd expect it to work. Ice = gone.
