I am in the market for a new 2500hd. I have about 4 in mind. They are 2010's. I am going tomorrow to make offers. How low should i go as it's the end of the month and the 5000 rebate? This is my first chevy purchase and would like to know from the community how low chevy dealers can go? Thanks for all the help in advance.

Just remember that there are usually new offers just around the corner at the beginning of the month. I can't really comment on the "how low can you go" as I'm in Canada and our prices run a bit differently here, as do the deals they offer us.

You can go to edmunds.com and find out what the invoice price is on each truck by figuring in the right options. Then offer the dealer the invoice price minus all applicable rebates. That would be a good ballpark. They still make hold back money on each vehicle, which is about $ 1,500 for a truck like this, even more on a diesel. Most dealers will not give up all of the hold back, some may give up some of it.

If your not trading in anything then you pretty much have their B@lLL$ to the walls. Try for 10K off the bat with the first dealer, and depending on how well that went (or didn't go) ask for less off at the next place. The thing to remember is you need to get out of the first dealer A.S.A.P, the last thing you want to do is waste your time in a deal that will never get done.

Good luck!

I bought a 2010 2500 CC 6.0 in June for $500 below invoice plus another $5000 reduction for the rebate. This was a straight cash sale. It did not take much negotation to get this deal. In hind sight I probably could have reduced that by maybe another $500 if I wanted to spend the time.

As someone mentioned, go from dealer to dealer, but also, if you live in a small town/city, go to the "big city" and deal. I find "up north" nobody has any incentive to give you a deal. Like no competition?? Independantly wealthy and don't have to move vehicles?? I don't know. Each truck I have purchased has been in Toronto area and the last one a little bit more north than TO in Orangeville. Nothing where I live. Sometimes they don't even come over and talk to you when they see you checking out the vehicles in this town!!

I know they are giving HUGE rebates right now. I priced out a 2500HD from the dealer about 2-3 weeks ago and they were taking $14,000 off the list price. Could have got a $54,000 truck for $40k. This is in Canada mind you but it might give you something to work from.

I am a internet sales guy at a Chevy Dealership. I don't know about your area but in Florida there is $5,000 in rebate plus an additional $1,000 off if you finance through GMAC. If you find a truck that has always been that dealers(look on the window sticker it will say the original dealer in case it was a dealer trade) and if it was their vehicle they will have holdback so most dealers would take a deal at 1k under invoice plus rebates, especially if you buy at the end of the month. $500 under is a good deal, $1,000 is an excellent deal. Finance through GMAC and get $6,000 off in total rebates.

How were the prices on the 1500s?

About $11,000 off. The 1500 I am getting came to $39,800 or something like that. Was a $50,000 truck. With delivery, taxes, registration, everything came to about $43,000. 2010 All Terrain CCSB, SLE interior & ext. packages, back up sensors & cam, power pedals...

Getting it from Niagara Motors in Virgil.

No $hit, I'd jump all over a 2500 HD Crew cab diesel 4x4 for $40k @ 0% for 72 months. Where do I sign?

Seriously, what's the best price someone purchased a new 2010 HD diesel 4x4 crew for (using 0% for 72months)? How much did you get off sticker?

Well the $40k wasn't a diesel, it was a 6.0L but still a killer price!

That it is!

I'm curious to see what sort of incentives they're going to be offering in September and how low I can get them to go on the price for my current truck which I honestly wouldn't have any issues keeping. I'm going to go out just after Labor Day and see.

Did you try to negotiate a price on your current truck or did you just want a new one?

Posted

They wanted a 24k buyout on my truck, so for another 15 I get a brand new one, and I recently had a baby so wanted a CC for the larger back seat. Would have liked the 3/4 ton just because of the 6'6" bed size, but the 6.0 L would kill me in gas b/c I do alot of driving.

SO to answer your question no I didn't really try to negotiate.
