I know this is a GM forum, but me and my bro test drove one this weekend and it impressed me, so much I may have my buddy run the numbers on one for me. Has anyone owned the new body style or heard of any issues? Unless the deal is too good to pass up I prob wont do it, it's still a Dodge lol but between the looks inside and out, power, and features I really like them.

Just keep the GMT.....man rams are rolling problems...this is even coming from a closet dodge fan

Haha..yea I was just impressed with them. My bro may need a new truck if his VHO Silverado is totaled and was the main reason we drove it, but the white sport on the lot cought my eye, however the loud tapping when we started it kinda bothered me..

On paper they are pretty nice, but the GMT-900 is pretty hard to be overall. I've seen some nice configurations driving down the road I'd be proud to own, but I think I'd still stick with my GMC.

I haven't heard of any issues with the new Rams and they are the 2nd best looking truck behind the GMT900 Sierra IMO (and it's a close 2nd... actually they're probably even, but since i bought the Sierra im giving it extra credit to take the #1 spot).

What drivetrain is in your current truck? Would the Ram be a step up in power and towing? Does the truck have upgraded options that you'd like? If so... i'd consider doing it if the price is right. They're very stout trucks and look amazing with a slight lift and properly sized tires.

I just have a 5.3 6 speed with the appearance package, personally I like my trucks appearance better than any other gmt900 off the floor aside from maybe a denali haha which is why I bought it..but I parked next to the dodge and really made me think. And I def wouldnt buy one for towing, they squat like no other with the 4 link or whatever it has

Springs are springs. A coil spring can be as strong as or stronger than leaf springs. There's nothing weak about the suspension design in that truck.

my sisters boyfriend has a brand new one, fully loaded. don't get me wrong, its nice, but the quality (especially interior) is not up to par with the GM's.

well I saw one towing a ford escort the other day and it looked like it was rubbing tires it squated so bad, my buddy towed his jeep with a heavier trailer in the same truck as mine and basically levels it out, same for my dads truck and our camper. Their ratings arent quite as high if I remember right as well. But anyway, the most I tow is a few quads, Im not really worried about that.

Overall they ride nice and have some nice features even in less equiped models, and unlike my chevy the interior was quiet. Since day one my truck rattles inside and has only gotten worse annoys the shit out of me haha. But the sports leather wrapped dash and seats really set it off, they're pretty badass compared to any chevy I've been in as far as appearance..but bein a Dodge it'll prob fall apart in a couple years

drive a 6.2 or a duramax and you wont even think about the rickety dodge anymore. i can vouch for the older rams being shit boxes but idk about the new ones

Sounds to me like the guy towing the escort was an idiot and didn't have the proper tongue weight set up. Max payload on the Ram is actually slightly higher than the max payload on the GM 1500's. I wouldn't base their towing abilities off someone pulling around a trailer with 3000lb tongue weight

Last time I checked the ram is about the same as my 5.3 whihc is 9500, my dads 6.0 is 10,400...anyway I think its common knowledge the Ram isnt the best at towing anymore but I could be wrong. Speaking of d max..we ran my buddys lbz with ppe, intake, exhaust with a stock ram and the d max didnt look so quick anymore lol

My bad Matt does look like theyre about the same

IMO they are quite nice trucks. It was between a ram and my silverado for me but i was able to get the GM employee discount so that gave the silverado the edge. Dont get me wrong i love my GMT. But was a tough decision for me also.
