Ok im looking into buying a truck in the spring, initally i liked ONLY the truck like dash style, but now that im looking into an SLT i kind of have myself talked into the car like dash style. Just wondering what everyone else thinks of the two options. Now i understand the car like is only in the SLT but would that keep you out of an SLT or do you not care either way?? The only reason im looking into the SLT is the heated leather seats which comes in very handy here in Michigan, you can get leather in an SLE2 but its NOT heated, Ok let the opinions fly!!!!

I have the more work truck interior and its nice in a industrial way. Everything is with in reach and its all up at more eye level. The thing I dont like about it is it is so bland. Now my brother got a new LTZ Silverado (i have a sierra) and his has the more luxurious interior and its nice but I think if you go with the interior with the wood inlays you have to get tan leather or the wood inlays just dont stand out against the black and it still looks pretty bland. I like his interior more then mine except its not as ergonomically easy to use. The AC buttons are too low I think and you really have to look down to know what your are doing. All in all I still wish I had the luxurious interior just because it is much more pleasing to look at.

I prefer the "pure pickup" dash. Things are up much higher where you can see them. In my buddys Avalanche, everything seemed so low, and you had to take your eyes off the road to look. I guess you could get used to it.

I've driven in a few automobiles with the center console and my right leg hits the console. The console setup is fine for most people. But I feel clostrophopic sandwiched in a console equipped vehicle. And although I don't take many passengers in my truck, I do like the option of take 3 across.

GM was smart in putting two dashboards in new GMT900 trucks. As they can capture the tradional truck customer and also the ones that want and need navigation screen and all that goes with it in the console setup.

I have the tradional dash in my 2008 GMT900 and with that, I am still finding new buttons and features.

The fancy backup alarm feature is a great thing to have in any vehicle. I think that is only offered in the console version - or someone can correct me.

I actually like both but prefer the slt dash. When i drove both i realized the doors were set up different in the interior. The handles are in different locations, the slt was up higher while the sle was lower. I definitely didnt care for that so i ended up with the slt, its a great looking dash except for the stainless/woodgrain combo.

The question is, how do you use your truck? If you use it like a truck, I'd go for the SLE setup with leather. How often would you really use the heated leather? If you use it like a car, then go for the SLT interior. I had this same dilemma when purchasing my SLE. I just could not see dropping 40K on a truck, ever. My advice is to think about how you use the vehicle and buy the interior that best fits the wallet and the need. The painted door handles and mirror caps can be purchased after market and no one will be the wiser on the oustside, or you can go with chrome as I did below.

I like the design of the truck dash... since it is a truck. The upgrade dash is nice looking too but it should be in a Caddy or maybe upper end Denali in my opinion.

I went with the LTZ/SLT interior on my truck. I had a hard time reading the gauges on the LT/SLE dash, but I will agree that the climate controls are too low in the LTZ/SLT setup and that the woodgrain looks kinda hokey. You really have to look down to see the A/C stuff, but at least with the automatic climate control setup this doesn't need to be done very often.

When I was building my truck I found that with the options I wanted there was only going to be a $20 difference between the LTZ and the 2LT packages, plus with the LTZ I got the 12-way power, heated seats (really nice this time of year considering we're getting ready to have about 3 days of freezing rain starting tomorrow night). They were only 6-way power adjustable, non-heated in the LT trim. Oh, and the Rainsense wipers were only available on the LTZ.

The thing I like about the LTZ/SLT interior is that the door handles are up higher. I really dislike where the door handles are on the SLE2 truck I've got and all the other ones. You have to reach down past your hip to get to them.

I wonder if i have rainsense wipers? i guess they have a switch

The switch is the same as the intermittent wiper control. Instead of adjusting the delay on the wipers, the control stalk just adjusts the sensitivity of the sensor behind the rearview mirror.

I really wanted the car like SLT dash when I ordered my truck and I probably would have ordered the SLT if it had a cloth seat option. I don't think GM has ever produced a better looking dash!

Being tall, I am glad I ordered the "pure truck" SLE interior. It has slightly better ergonomics with the higher placement of the HVAC controls and the radio.

Either one is a massive improvement over what GM has ever produced. I was never happy with the truck interiors until the GMT-900s came out.

I chose the SLT and instead of considering it a "car style" dash I consider it the more luxurious than the rest. It looks practically the same as whats in my dads Denali only less wood grain
