  4. William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody The Cody Homestead was Saturdays outing for the Mrs., Rex and I. South of Le Claire Iowa just a few miles off the Great River Road. US 67. $2 a head self guided tour. The Limestone portion was built by German Craftsman in 1847 under the direction of Isaac Cody, Bill's father. The American Black Walnut flooring and trim is original as is the plaster and lath. Talk about built to last. Take that Pergo!! Yes sir, we've come a long way.....backward. Tell me again how everything is built better today?? The later wood framed structure was added by the McCausland family that bought it and founded the Iowa town of the same name.

  7. Thanks. I hope my transmission holds. Another thing i find interesting: I also have two daughters in school, one at Ole Miss the other as a D1 (first year dental school). 4 hours and 2 hours away. That’s not THE commute, but it’s A commute. One less frequent, but more fun! Godspeed!

  9. 2018 Ltz Z71 Midnight Edition. Chrome badges replaced with black and chrom lettering replaced with Redline Edition lettering. Custom bowties to match. Black, Red and Chrome were way to much for me even though it wasnt alot and im not that big into chrome. Swapped the black tow hooks to red as well. Brought it all together so I didnt have to swap the factory tail lights.

  10. I've said this several times. It is the style of driveshaft Chevy and GMC use on these trucks that is causing the Chevy Shake. The large diameter, long, thin walled, aluminum driveshaft are inherent wobble queens. This is why each truck has a speed limiter at different speeds. Once the shaft starts vibrating they back off a couple mph/kph and set the limit. If you can't drive the truck fast enough to reach driveshaft critical speed, you won't trash the tranny like I did. Now for the other shakes at other speeds, they too are driveshaft related. I changed my driveshaft over to a two piece steel shaft and center carrier. It is on a 2017 LTZ 2WD Crew Cab. It is also made to 3/4 ton specs. Since installing it 12,000 miles ago I have had a smooth as silk truck that will cruise all day long at triple digits if you so choose. My cost was about $900 but that sure beat trading for another brand truck. All the road force balancing in the world will not fix these trucks. Only a new style driveshaft will do it! Mark my words.

  11. I use Adam’s Polishes on my truck. I like the interior detailer for the door panels/console and the leather conditioner for the dash/seats. It has SPF in them to keep away the sun damage.

  12. No worries use what works for you. I follow the instructions on the bottle of Meguiars Interior Spray Detailer and have no issues. Distilled water and Woolite was recommended by a local detailer for leather seats and door panels. Use 1.5-2.0 oz of Woolite to 20oz of water. No problems with this either yet. Bought a gallon of Meguiars D156 X-press Spray Wax after looking at Auto Fetish Detail's YouTube videos. Guy uses it on exterior paint and trim, glass, interior trim, panels and leather seats. Will report back on my findings once I use it on the truck.

  13. Answered a PM this morning for a member and decided to post here because it may help somebody else with the same problem most common on 02-04 Avalanche and 03-04 others. Concerning instrument panel causing battery drain. What you need to look for is copper migration on the back of the instrument panel. Take the cluster out and remove the black back cover. ( 6 clips ) This is what you will see. On the left around where the oil pressure gauge is, check for darkened copper islets in this area. You will notice on this particular board 2 have started going dark but not enough to cause your problem. Yours will have large spots causing bridging, unfortunately I don't have one at hand to show you but it would look even worse than these 3 spots. Here you can actually see possible bridging between an islet and the adjacent trace. What you will need to do is clean the area in the red square from second picture. If you have a sanding pen, they work best. Then to test your work plug it back in and turn ignition "ON" turn it "OFF" and open the driver's door and watch the needles of your cluster. They should twitch about 20 seconds after opening the door. 90% of these problems I solve this way. Once you are sure that your cluster turns "OFF" and no longer drains your battery take the cover back off and apply a bit of varnish on the trouble spots. I use nail polish just because it's handy.

  14. I seen this post yesterday while at my brother's house, he's a Jax Wax dealer. Told him I have the same issue with streaking. I've used Maguire's wipes, Armor All wipes, doesn't matter. He handed me a spray bottle of a interior cleaner from JW. I'll let you know how it works. I will say, anything else from JW has worked with great results. No, I'm not trying to force anything here, but, I will say, it does what it says it will. By all means use what you like, but, honestly, the results can be seen, can't argue that...

  16. I installed these same mirrors from 1A Auto today and the lights in the back side of the mirror are boy illuminating with turn signals. Is this something that rearranging pin locations will fix?

  18. 2015 Silverado Midnight Z71 Here’s a picture from a Tahoe.[emoji1312] Finally broke down and bought me a 17 Yukon digital cluster for my truck. I’ve made previous upgrades to my HMI and radio thru WAMS (thanks wams!!) that allow this retrofit with the HUD feature enable., i also have new HUD to install it and thanks to@pgamboa who lives 25 min away from who has me cover to build me a harness for free [emoji13] ??. The biggest challenge of all of this going to be the dashboard upper trim piece and the cluster visor hood.. so if we want to accomplish this retrofit for our Silverado & Sierras we are going to work on this one together.@cmatt mentioned a tab coming from the dash metal bar support and my Silverado has that one as well, it will match but it will also require extra brackets to make a solid union of the HUD and the metal support. So if anyone has only other info on this please feel free to share and let’s tackle this one together..[emoji1320][emoji1306] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. I bought an led kit from www.f150leds.com. Spendy, but a nice kit. They were really white when off so I put some window tint on them. Now their almost invisible when off but still fairly bright when on. Wired them into drl's. They attach with 2 sided tape. The spacing is 6.5" center to center when centered in grill opening

  24. Walked in looking to trade my 2014 Silverado LTZ for a lightly used 2018 Denali they had, walked out with a brand new 2018 SLT 4x4 Z71! LOL Unfortunately whoever owned that beautiful Denali was a cigar smoker. No way I could get past that nasty smell! It about knocked me over when I opened the door.

  26. When the truck is running and you are adding air to the tires, the truck will beep when the tire gets to the correct pressure.

  30. Well, I debadged my truck yesterday. Like what I usually do, get some fishing line and take the letters off. Then, got the eraser wheel & took the adhesive off. Truck looks a lot better now! Can't decide to color match the doorhandles and mirror caps or not? Can't decide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
