Real trucks have rake!

I have a trailer with a fixed jack that a solid tailgate will hit. Opening the small section of multipro gives me some bed access without opening tonneau, so I don't disable mine. To be useful for me, disabling the 'open' button on the dash and /or fob would be much more useful. Anyway, I'd guess the enable/disable may have arrived with the 22.5 refresh. Method is in the '23 1500 owners manual. It's only 3 seconds to enable/disable. Seems like a 'long push' of the button can result in unintentional enable / disable.

If the truck has seat adjustment includes up/down, it can be used to get a more comfortable arm position.

Does the truck have both USB-A and USB-C? Which are you using?

If is a driver and not fully loaded, it's highly likely that the front and rear axle aren't carrying the same weight. A tire load vs inflation pressure chart will indicate the front and rears will have different recommended pressures -- for the loads yours is carrying

Yes. Standard 20's for summer take-off 18's for winter. I have a set of AT4 take-off rims (AT$ uses 18") that I've put Nokian winter tires on. I used these rims/tires on the 2021 as well. On a 2016 SLT that also came on 20's I ran a different set of GM 18" take-off 18's for winter. All 3 trucks when on the 18's have more 'roll' when hard cornering and slighty better ride. I air done the rears some when running unloaded. Placard pressures are for when vehicles is fully loaded. On a pickup this means the rears are a higher than necessary if it's not loaded.

Good catch -- I didn't even read this list. I do know that in at least some earlier year manuals the T/H thing was in the list. In the list I copied (2023 sierra) they aren't clear that Manual mode also makes it unavailable.

First time I added DEF was at 7315 miles. Worked out to 1481 USMPG I record every fuel fill, and compare DIC tripmeter mileage with hand calc mileage. Hand calc lifetime average is currently 29.1 mpg

List of things that prevent auto stop/start from 'stopping'. Auto Engine Stop/Start When the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop, the engine may turn off. When stopped, the tachometer displays AUTO STOP. See Tachometer pg 114. When the brake pedal is released or the accelerator pedal is pressed, the engine will restart. To maintain vehicle performance, other conditions may cause the engine to automatically restart before the brake pedal is released. Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because: . The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior. . The vehicle battery needs to charge. . The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected. . Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop. . The accelerator pedal is pressed. . The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature. . The outside temperature is not in the required operating range. . The vehicle is shifted out of D (Drive) to any gear other than P (Park). . Certain driver modes have been selected. See Driver Mode Control pg 242 and Four-Wheel Drive pg 233. . The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade. . The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled. . The hood has been opened. . The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time. Sometimes I forget to shut it off and sometimes I let it run so I can play with it. (Most trips it's not going to kick-in for the first few stops anyway because one of the restrictions in the list that prevent stops.) Playing with it I've found that it is also possible to release the brake pedal enough to cause a re-start without the vehicle moving.

Not sure if these are the exact tire sizes you are comparing, but The 2 sizes likely have very similar outside diameter. Of course the rim size is 2" different -- so the sidewall height makes up for the difference. Shorter sidewall will be stiffer giving a worse ride. Same thing happens between 18" and 20" factory sizes. I first experienced the significance of the sidewall thing when switching an uplevel trim Impala that had rubber band tires over to smaller diameter rim / taller sidewall (winter) tires. I felt the difference between 18"and 20" on a 2016 SLT. and feel it now on '23 Denali. (20's vs 18's)

If it can still 'see' the ones it last learned it has no reason to try and detect others. In any case, taking 'em (even temporarily) is an easy test.

I've had the deformation issue on multiple GM vehicles. Not just trucks. Guess we need to go back to having a painted steel panel in that location -- like in the 'good old days'--- LOL Then we just get to ****** about the common issue of the paint wearing off.

I always aired down my 2500's when running around empty. Especially the rears. Empty, the rear axle load is lower than the front axle load. Of course the front/rear ratio depends on long bed/standard bed and which cab the truck has. Only do this if you're sure you'll remember to air them back up for towing or payload. You could weigh the front and rear axles and then go to a inflation pressure VS load chart for the tires it's equipped with. Door post recommended tie pressures are for when the vehicle is at max rated vehicle loads. If you've got scale weights, the chart can give you pressures for the loads you are running.

'Value' of a trim level always depends on what options you want/require. Higher trim is a better value IF enough of the extra options are ones you would have added to the lower trim. Add enough of them to the lower trim and the higher trim becomes a better value. If only interested in adding some -- then the extra's stuff on the higher trim is just crap you didn't want. All this was a lot easier to compare in brochures that listed the 'standard', 'optional', and 'not available' info each trim side-by-side in a chart. I find this much more difficult (and frustrating) to do with the 'design/build' configurators. Fleet order guide can help identify differences.

LB7 (and all 6'6 dmax's) also uses a thicker oil than the 3.0 15W40 vs 0W20 Dropping the oil when it is hot will drain more of it in a reasonable amount of time, which helps appearance. Either way, the 'leftover oil' is a very small percentage of the overall quantity.
