Just giving an idea of the number parts and pieces involved. If I was interested in a taller truck I'd still be running a 2500. A stock 2500 is still taller than a 1500 with the 2" lift.

On 2022 1500 WT and Custom the G80 rear locker is an available option On all other 2022 1500 LTD Silverado trims the G80 is standard. Refreshed 2022 ZR2 gets the front and rear E-lockers, other trims above WT and Custom get the G80. Similar with the Sierra AT4X gets the G93 and G94 Pro trims have available G80 All other trims G80 rear is standard 9.76" appears to be on NHT only

Mine seems to required the password to be re-entered after it does an update. My phone does this as well. I suspect this is so a re-flash can't be used as a way to reset either one. I agree, it can be a nuisance.

I run my dash set to 'inch' units, so have been doing the 'remember to convert' mental exercise for many years. I think I'd find 10% speedo error (10km at 100 kph) to be even easier. You'll likely do fine. (I don't really care if it's mph or kph, but I like to monitor fuel economy for ****** and giggles, and much prefer mpg vs L/100km. I'd like it even better if 'miles / imperial gallon' was available. I likely would just convert if kpl (kilometers per litre) was the metric version in use.

The LT tires on the Trailboss are 'C' range, not the usual E range. Afaik, they are the only C range Duratrac and the only one that is not 3PMSF rated From GM's order guide: R3O Tires, LT275/65R18C blackwall Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT I snapped up a set of takeoff rims with these tires, (for winter use) --- and then discovered the 3PMSF issue. Swapped the tires out for a 3PMSF 'winter' tire. I believe this tire was produced specifically so GM would use it for factory fit on the 1500 trailboss and AT4

Don't the refresh trucks use a different electrical control architecture? If so, that would seem like a classic reason to add a new section.

Denali's today are NOT full time 4wd. (yes 1500 Denali's were AWD at one time) Auto, 4wd or 2wd are available now. (and 4wd lo) I always run 2wd. Give it a try! Running speed and acceration rate matter too. Cruise is your friend. I track every fill. The 'low' mileage ones include towing. (I've got a few fills not plotted yet..)

As I recall, mechanical gates were also know to occasionally fail. We've heard all the same song and dance about every electric/electronic innovation in both on-road and off-road equipment. Any part can fail. That's why there are repair departments and parts supply systems. Every GM garage I go into is full of GM's getting repaired. Every Ford garage I go into is full of Ford's getting repaired. Every Deere garage I go into is full of Deere's getting repaired. etc, etc

If you're looking for a refreshed one, they are using the much loved 10 speed on 5.2, 6.2 and 3.0. 8 speed is supposed to have its issues resolved, but is only being used with the 2.7. 6 speed is gone.

Drop the supercharged 6.2 in one and go TRX and Raptor hunting....

Truck did the an OTA download a few days ago, and it did the install of the update yesterday. Haven't driven it much yet, but so far, haven't noticed any differences. Does anyone know what this OTA update changed?

Perhaps some of the misunderstanding is because all dmax 6.6's get dual batteries? All duramax trucks get 2 batteries. They are (at least on dmax) connected together to act as one big battery. Single or dual alternators, is the same.
