  1. Turns out it's the backspacing. 22" wheel option has about an extra 1/4 inch. Oem 20" wheels do even better upsizing tires with even greater back spacing.
  2. It look like for every half inch increase in rim width the tire width will increase 2/10", which puts it at 11.1". Not enough to worry about though. I didn't want to level it, but it looks like I'll have to see if I can find a 1/2" spacer or something.
  3. Here's the part # for the seal, Part Number: 22844822. You can cut open the stock one you have but it just finishes better this way imo. All its doing is opening up the face of the air box against the fender. The air box I opened up is on the truck right now and I didn't take any pictures. But when I figure out what I like best Ill be sure to post one. I should mention that I have header's, so any changes I've made may or may not be more pronounced then if running the stock manifolds.
  4. So we all know these topics are beaten to death, but I wanted to see if there's anyone on here running this tire size on stock suspension. I put on 275 65 r18 falken wildpeak at3w which should fit without question. The 22" wheel option on the silverado works out to roughly this size. Falken says the at3w measures 32.1 x 10.9 on an 8" rim. My rim is 8.5", which shouldn't really affect it? Rub's in reverse, even before full lock and I can't tell where its rubbing. Not seeing any indication on the wheel well or the tire and when I rotate the tire's in park it doesn't seem to hit anywhere. The only place it comes slightly close to is one of the bolts holding the mudflaps up. But I don't think the bolt is causing it, the location of it doesnt really align with how far I think the wheel is rotated...
  5. Trans fluid is new, but I will need to do the transfer case and rear diff next year. Regarding the shift sloppiness, it was all low speed part throttle applications that I experienced it. But that being said.. I've made so many different small changes to the air intake that I think the greatest influence on shift quality, is the air intake and how it affect the engine and power output. I've had a cold air intake, stock air box with 6.0 litre seal, modified stock air box, and obviously the stock air intake. People really underestimate things like this since you're not going to see it on a dyno. I like the stock box with 6.0 seal, just feels quick everywhere. It does nose over a bit up top, but not as bad as the stock one. Now i'm trying to figure out how much I want to open it up so that the top end is good without affecting off throttle top in. This is all with my butt dyno, I could care less what a peice of paper says. It's all about what I feel its doing
  6. I can't speak for the op, but my fuel trims were a result of climate. When it's in the -30's the truck goes through an insane amount of fuel.
  7. My truck had similar ltft right before I had it tuned.
  8. The ticking is from the injectors. Fuel trims are normal.
  9. Yes, the 6l80 is the late model trans in the tsb. EPA requirements are irrelevant concerning warranty and/or denied warranty. GM failed to recognize a fault with their product, or they did know and failed to correct it. Until now.. It just pisses me off the way big corporation's operate. They can and do get away with anything, or at least until someone with a bigger wig comes along. Then its just a pissing contest between a whole bunch of big wigs. Millions thrown away in court battle's, instead of someone doing the right thing and taking responsibility. It's all about money how much it costs to get away with it and how it make's them look as a company.
  10. Thanks Poki, but yes I'm aware of the problems. What I'm trying to comprehend is why would gm fix this now. The 6 speed is no longer produced, current vehicles are out of warranty or will be out warranty soon. They've obviously known it was a problem from the start. Or rather, I hope they have. Because the alternative means the internet knows gm's products better than they do themselves. If anything this just provides fuel for someone looking at persuing a lawsuit. Hence, this makes no sense...
  11. You would have to find a lubricant that is designed to survive probably a minimum of 500 degrees. That being said, you could try applying an anti seize/rust killer like corrosion free, rust check etc. One that's designed to penetrate and break up the rust. Let it sit for a couple days and do it's work. Worth a shot anyways? I imagine it's the outside spring and/or connection at the housing thats squeaking. Probably no need to try and spray the inside.
  12. Anything you put on will burn off.
  13. This makes absolutely zero sense. I mean that gm is doing this now...
  14. Can you hear the knock? I know mine doesn't like hills... Over time I trained myself to listen for it so I know whether to give it throttle, back off, or initiate a downshift. Not easy with the injector sound. It will usually feel a little different under knock too. This is on 94. I think there's the people that are aware and change their driving style to accomadate the knock. Then there's the people that don't know the difference and just drive it. Hard to say who's doing it right.
  15. They all do it, just don't let it lug. Press the throttle down a bit further to get that down shift, or drop it into L.
  16. If it doesn't fit add a wheel spacer, may as well push those tires right out of the fender!
  17. New rubber, much better then the stock duratracs. Transmission likes the slightly heavier tire, firms up the shifts/not as sloppy.
  18. I use corrosion free and the wax coating hasn't come off yet. I'm not to worried if it does, would sure make it a lot easier to put an decent frame coating on.
  19. Not if you live in the salt belt.
  20. Increasing plenum volume shift the power band, increasing low end power at the expense of top end power. So if you have the same modifications including the aftermarket cam, you would see similar results.
  21. Do the T1 brakes just bolt right up?
  22. Now that is some high quality plastic
  23. You may as well stuff a beer can with steel wool, punch to holes in it and call it a day. Why half ass it half the way, half ass it the whole way.
  24. A group of crows is called a murder. Crows = all black
