My response to that would be, "My truck wash must be broken. Do I need to slap her?" Yes, I'd really say that to my wife. She'd give me a nasty look, but also knows I'm playing. If probably get a reply back about how I'm too cheap to get anything reliable.

Where does one find a FSM? Could it be saved to a hard drive or thumb drive?

I hear you. I regret getting the 6.2 because of the cost of fuel. It's now over $5/gal in San Diego. However, I would've hated getting the 3.0 Duramax because it wasn't the 6.2. I wish I could afford 2 trucks.

Should've bought a 4 cylinder. Fewer cylinders mean less gas burned.

Known issue. Read the thread for details. Engines made from June 2020 to March 2021 may have this problem. Supplier screwed up.

I don't know about you, but some of the kids in my high school got BMW M3s, For Mustang Cobra, Volvo, Saab, etc. I'd rate those has nicer than a Silverado. My oldest kid will be driving age in a few years. I'm leaning towards a Tacoma for him.

It won't. It's the serpentine belt. After a few thousand miles you'll start to notice one edge of the belt is slightly fraying. Once that happens the chirping/squeaking will go away because the belt will be slightly slimmer and better aligned. I'm not very comfortable with this, so I keep a spare belt and belt removal/install in my truck just in case.

Dealerships that give free oil changes do it because they also inspect the vehicle "free of charge" in an effort to get the customer to buy into whatever repair they discover needs doing. The business term for these free oil changes is "loss leader". The idea is if they give the oil change for free, and notice other repairs that are needed, they'll capture profits they otherwise would've missed by not getting you into the shop in the first place. Ironically, this is pretty much standard for retail businesses. I can rebuild anything on my truck, except the transmission, but I still take advantage of my dealers oil change offer because it saves me money.

I am not familiar with AVS. I want aware they even made these. That's why I assumed they were Weather Tech.

I took a look at the Rough Country installation instructions. It looks like the winch tray in the kit could be installed without the RC valance. However, it uses the mounting location of the tow hooks. I was unable to tell if the factory hooks could still be utilized. I need to make a phone call.

I think you all are wrong. It's the hamsters getting off their wheels and taking a little time to rest, eat, and drink. It takes a lot for them to be able to move or trucks and haul our rears around.

This is a thread about squeaky belts and pulleys. Those happen in the front, not the middle or rear. No trans issues. No exhaust flapper issues. I had the squeaky belt issue, and I think the problem is one of the pulleys is misaligned. One edge of my belt is showing a little bit of fraying. However, I no longer have the sound on startup. 20,8xx miles on odometer.

I have this too, but it's only a light squeak. 2020 Trail Boss LT. After 2 slow speed stops it goes away. I have 2 stop signs in my neighborhood with a 15 mph speed limit before reaching a road with a 35 mph speed limit and a braking requirement of more effort. It just sounds like cold/dirty brakes. My truck also has 20k miles. Reality is, brake pads and rotors are metal. They're going to squeak a little. It's natural. Manufacturers put a lot of R&D into not letting the squeak, such as chamfering, or putting a channel in the middle of the pad, but as pads wear the benefit of the tech diminishes. Have you ever heard the squeak brakes make in a semi, a city bus, or a dump truck? It really is normal.

2018 LTZ has a 6-speed? My neighbor has a 2018 GMC Sierra that's not a Denali and has the 8-speed. OP, are you sure your info is correct? I have a truck with the 10-speed. I use the parking brake daily. My driveway has a 8% slope, according to the DIC. I use the parking brake to prevent tension on my trans. It doesn't matter the car or transmission, I'd do this anyways. I have no issues with the parking brake. I've noticed that if I forget to release the brake (likely because my kids are driving me crazy) that the brake releases on its own automatically. No issues, tension, pressure, etc. And, if I forget to set the brake while in my driveway and turn the truck off the brake sets automatically. I also have no issues shifting straight from P to D. No cycling through the gears. I also have no issues with the auto start/stop. I leave it turned on. No funny business going on here with my truck. I have 20,8xx miles on the odometer right now. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. Somehow I haven't had to deal with valve springs, leaky rear window, nor any other issues with my truck. As for a previous comment complaining about not having puddle lamps, certain seat features, power folding mirrors, etc. It sounds like they didn't get a truck with these features. All are available, and GM's seat functions really haven't changed in about 30 years. Same switches, buttons, or levers with the same functions as always. GM just makes you pay to play. I am a little disappointed in the stretch belt GM chose to go with. I was just looking at it the other day and noticed mine is rubbing up against something on one side. The signs of wear are showing on that edge. I'm going to have the dealer take a look next oil change. I need to buy a spare belt anyways just in case one breaks while I'm on the road in the middle of nowhere. I'll stick it with the spare wipers under the rear seat.

I'm going to assume that they are Weather Tech visors based on you stating they are in channel. Iirc, Weather Tech's install instructions tell you immediately after install to check for window function, then to leave the windows rolled up for several hours, maybe a day, so the visors can be pushed and set into the correct spot to prevent this issue. If they are Weather Tech visors, did you follow these instructions? I've had Weather Tech visors installed since week 1 and have experienced zero problems. This is my 3rd vehicle I've had them on, all without problems.

Reviving this thread from the dead. I installed the Rough Country lights, but tossed the wire harness and did my own thing, via GM Upfitter switches. To be honest, these lights suck. High beams are just as efficient. The only benefit of this kit is the brackets. I wish they were sold separately. I plan on upgrading to Baja Designs 10" lights and using the Rough Country brackets. I'll see if Baja Designs can make some S8s with Deutsche connectors.

Not necessarily, and I don't recommend the wiring harness GM says you need. The wire harness GM sells is a big mess from some other company not named Baja Designs. It allows you to mount to the battery and you only get a key fob to turn on/off the lights. I originally went this route and very quickly dumped it after talking to Baja Designs tech support. I went with the GM Upfitter switches. You'll need to buy different wire harnesses from Baja Designs if you go this route. I don't have the exact numbers, but one is a Y-harness to bring both lights to 1 pigtail. The other harness you plug into the Y-harness and run through the firewall to connect directly to one of the GM Upfitter switches and a ground. You'll lose the ability to strobe your lights, which the GM harness has 2 speeds for, but who really needs that?

Congrats! Even after owning my truck almost 18 months I have a love/hate relationship with the engine. I love the power of the 6.2, but hate the fuel expense. $5/gallon for 91 (closest to 93 you can get in California). Diesel is cheaper that regular. However, I know that no matter what I had gone with I would've not been 100% happy. I do wonder what it drives like though. Never got a chance to try out the diesel (nor any of the engines) before buying.

Looks great! I'm partial to all black and even got the lug nuts from GM Accessories to get rid of the chrome.

Last week I was finally able to finish the wireless charging addition to my truck. Had to switch the wire harness so that I got the factory navigation working in my truck again. Figured I'd take the time to get the project done right and added the air duct tube that goes to the wireless charging pad. That was a PITA due to having the Bose system. Also had to pull a blend door actuator to get the tube installed by the lower glove box. Everything is working as it should now. Today I finished my custom wiring of the Rough Country grill lights to the GM Upfitter auxiliary switches. I really wish GM had pre-wired the auxiliary switches into the truck like Ford did for the Raptor. Connecting to blunt cut wires under the hood instead of trying to shove everything through a tiny hole in the firewall would make everything so much easier.

Is there a double meaning to "sexy backdoor" here?
