  1. @mark1968, the first time when they didn't have the proper oil and said it was 10 miles down the road, I would have said, cool, I can wait while you go get it and change it out. Their mess up and they need to fix it. Maybe that would teach them to make sure the correct product gets used for the application. If the tech that did the change had to use his personal vehicle to get the proper oil, I think he would think twice the next time he did an oil change.
  2. Another reason for larger oil capacity is due to fuel dilution. Imagine how fast the oil would loose it's lubricating properties if it was still a 5qt system and soaked with fuel. Not long at all which would require back to the days of 3k oil changes.
  3. From cruising the Honda and Toyota forum, they are not the vehicles of old. Problems popping up with new models as well. Honda and their engines have increased in fuel dilution issues.
  4. No shortages here in eastern NC. Well, for the most part. Toilet paper still isn't back to 100% in some stores neither is Lysol spray.
  5. What stinks is there is no drain plug on the front differential on the new 2019's. It is also harder to get to the fill plug. The harness for the power steering is in the way.
  6. If tracking is the main concern, then like stated above, your cell is the main item that is used to track everyone. It is my understanding that 2022 vehicles are going to be so locked down and hooked up that it will not be possible to tune or anything else. Technology, got to love it.
  7. Nice write-up. Next time get the Squeeze packs. Makes adding the fluid a breeze.
  8. You should be good to go. I had the original thermostat in my 2002 at 200k miles. Keeping the coolant fresh helps.
  9. I would like to put towing mirrors on but it is my understanding that if you change out from small to towing, the camera view is all messed up. Does anyone know if this has been corrected? That is the only thing stopping me right now. I like to use my camera views.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. Not a hard thing to fix or cost from what I understand.
  11. Good info and video. I changed out the coolant on my 2002 Silverado and on my 2014 Cruze with AMSOIL's low toxicity coolant. I didn't flush the blocks, just drained and ran distilled water through the system until it came out clear. Then I put in the new coolant.
  12. How big is the one with the truck and camaro in?
  13. I'm not up on these issues, but is a torque converter weld an issue?
  14. Agree, you maintain your vehicle well. This new one should last just as long.
  15. I have found that new tires will give lower mpg. They did on my diesel Cruze.
  16. I'm looking at epoxy as well but then I saw this VCT tile floor and the cost is less than epoxy. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2873&page=8
  17. SS502 has passed?
  18. I noticed that some trucks run the temp gauge at 210 and some under. Mine runs under even towing.
  19. You are one lucky individual. We had a 2002 Venture and at 35k the intake and heads leaked coolant into the engine. It didn't damage the engine since I caught it with used oil analysis (UOA). I showed the UOA to the dealership and they checked the engine with a leak check and confirmed. Had the heads replaced and new intake gasket all under warranty. Then again at 110k more coolant in the oil, again found on the UOA. So we said that was it, traded it in for a 2008 GMC Acadia. The fact that you are getting that mileage out of one is a miracle and doing something right. Just curious as to how often you are changing the oil and what brand and filter?
  20. Hope you have deep pockets. This will be an expensive venture considering the new trucks can't be tuned by just anyone.
  21. Jasper Engines. https://www.jasperengines.com/gm-gen-iii-iv
  22. I use AMSOIL's Injector Clean and Cetane Boost in my 2014 Cruze diesel.
  23. No pictures since I forgot to take any but I did install my mirror tap for my radar detector. Super easy since I found the YouTube video. Purple/white for hot and black/white for ground. Bingo switched power. Zip tied it down and I'm good to go.
