  1. You put 57,000 miles on in 5 months?
  2. I change out my transmission fluid at 10k miles. But then I switch it over to AMSOIL so that is why so early. But if you want to keep your vehicle and as trouble free as possible then transmission fluid changes at every 45k miles is a good idea. Considering most don't put that many miles on their ride in a short time. The cost is well worth it. Most don't do anything to the transmission and then wonder why they are having issues when they get to 100k miles. If you want to go longer then running a full synthetic like AMSOIL will keep it going. I had 200,000 on my 2002 and I ran the last run of AMSOIL ATF up to 100,000 miles and had a sample sent off and it came back in great shape with very little wear material. This is even towing a 4klbs. 10' x 20' box trailer once or so a month over a two year period.
  3. Unless you watch them to see what they put in, not all dealerships seem to use what is recommended. I know this might sound odd but I have seen it myself. The individual just grabs what they always use and fills up with it. Again, not all places are like this but it does happen. As most are swamped and try to get vehicles in and out in a timely manner. This is why it is best to do your own oil changes.
  4. Welcome. As posted above those should work. I'm sure more will chime in with advice. I'm also looking at the same tire when my Duratracs wear out.
  5. The other main issue is our quality of fuel. If we had a cleaner burning fuel it would benefit big time. The issues on diesel over in Europe don't have to deal with things like we do here because their fuel is a much higher quality fuel. At least that is my understanding. Also looking at vehicles that run E85. The combustion chambers are clean with little to no deposits. Big oil can produce a higher quality fuel but that would cut into their profits way to much. Better to push crap on us and make the big bucks.
  6. These are off my 2019 Silverado. They have 8k miles on them. I got a set of powder coated black I put on so I no longer need these. $80, local pick up or I will ship.
  7. They would make more money keeping the price the same and then just including in the instructions to disconnect the battery for 12 hours. Taking it in to have the ECM flashed is taking up a slot for another customer that they could be making more money on. Looks like the GM bean counters didn't do their job on this one then.
  8. So if it is the same as a rest, as in just disconnecting the battery, which the instructions tell you to do, then why does GM waste their Techs time and money having you take it in to do a "flash". GM is not in the game to spend money that is for sure. There has to be another reason.
  9. A friend of mine has a 2005 Suburban with 370k on it. Only thing that has been replaced is the water pump. It still runs like a champ.
  10. OK, since I'm coming from a 2002, which was easier to reach to clean. I noticed that on the 2019, there is a nice gap down between the dash and the windshield that my big meat skinner fingers can't get to. I know, what's the issue and why so trivial? I just wanted to post to see if anyone else noticed this. AMSOIL's glass cleaner works like a champ. Love it and the smell isn't bad either.

  11. The ECM flash doesn't shut off the filter life, you are instructed to do that per the installation instructions in the DIC. I didn't just because. Wanted to see how fast the filter life goes down in relation to time and miles driven.
  12. AMSOIL does not endorse reusing their filter. Just wanted to let everyone know.
  13. I have one of these and it works great. https://www.amazon.com/OEMTOOLS-87021-No-Spill-Funnel-Pack/dp/B0771KVLF3
  14. HP Tuners can tune them now. But it is expensive. Not sure if it will be available from others anytime soon.
  15. You would think. GM has locked these new trucks down tight and other CAI companies can’t tune for their intake. To me, if that’s the case then I don’t see much of a difference from stock. That is the reason I went with GM.
  16. Yes. It is included with the purchase of the CAI.
  17. Same here. Just to hot to drive with it open. Looking forward to the cooler weather and fresh air running through the cab.
  18. Interesting since the directions tell you to turn off the air filter monitor since it will not be accurate. I didn't just for the fun of it and see how fast it goes down with my driving style. I need to get it back on the dyno to see if an any changes came along since I added the CAI and Corsa exhaust.
  19. Welcome to GMT.
  20. What gets me is GM's requires an ECM flash. Has anyone figured out why GM does but nobody else's CAI's does? Has to be a reason. Considering a tune can wake up these new engines, a simple change to the ECM because of a different CAI must do something, otherwise why do it.
  21. 2019 Silverado 6.2 10,104 miles on vehicle 4,987miles on AC Delco 0w-20 oil AC Delco PF63E filter. This was my one free oil change. Sent sample off to Dyson Analysis
  22. It will not be long I feel and you will not find any oils that are considered conventional. Manufacturers are pushing the use of synthetic and for good reason. As stated above you can find various oils at any auto parts store, Valvoline, Pennzoil, Castrol and so on and if you are doing 3 to 5k oil changes they will serve you well. Switching over to a quality synthetic like AMSOIL is never a bad thing. Running cooler, cleaner and holding up longer are all benefits. As is a possible mpg increase. Yes, very unlikely but I have had a few customers that changed over and noticed a 1 to 2 mpg increase after coming from a conventional use vehicle most of it's life. The possibility is there but you will never know unless you try. So no worries switching over. If you are interested in AMSOIL, send me a pm with your address and I can get you a quote delivered to your door for an oil change.
  23. I put on black powder coated tips and so I don't need these anymore. First $80 gets them, that includes shipping. I'm in eastern NC for anyone that is close by.
  24. I loved my 02. No issues at all other than regular maintenance. It had 200k on it when I sold it.
  25. I got a K&N cabin filter for my 2014 Cruze diesel. I like it. Just take it out once a year, clean it and put it back in. Works great for a cabin air filter.
