Passenger Mirror

Hello...

This is my 1st post and I am looking for some advice\help. I drive a 2008 GMC Yukon.

Last weekend I broke my passenger mirror while backing out of my garage. The plastic housing cracked on the bottom and the mirror looks like it broke off the motor. I was able to reattach the plastic housing (only small crack) but the mirror is broken. I called two local GMC dealership and both quoted $400 dollars to buy the part, have it painted and installed. This seems very high and I am just hoping I need to purchase the glass mirror and it can be attached wthout purchasing the whole mirror assembly. Any ideas...?

I can't understand why GMC would not sell an OEM color coded mirror.

Thanks! :P

Have you tried ebay? There are usually lots of take-off mirrors posted on there...and you may be able to find one with a painted cover to match your Yukon...if it's not a rare color. GM only offers a handful of colors for the pre-painted mirror caps.

I just bought a set of both mirror glass off ebay last week for $54, and there are always painted mirror covers on there too, also check the for sale thread, because you can't buy the bottom plastic of the mirror from GM, but I saw one someone had for sale, if that's what's cracked

Thanks for the feedback....

The housing looks ok even thought there is a slight crack at the bottom as I was able to snap it back together. Problem I see is that the actual glass part broke off and will not reattach. Also was told that the door had to be taken apart to reprogram the electrical piece. Not sure what part I need to order as GMC Parts Direct said it is one entire assembly.

I just can't beleive I was quoted $400 to replace a mirror on a Yukon. It is not a Benz...

I have a 2004 Yukon XL 2500 with the fancy extendable, heated, turnsignal mirrors. My daughter busted the glass mirror part this morning. I went to the Chevy dealer and they hit me for $195.00 for the glass mirror part only. I'm on here to find out how to reinstall it.

Listen to Travis...He helped me with identifying parts for my truck and apparently knows his way around these trucks. Sorry Travis, I had to.

Thanks for the info M. Cueva.

But the one I have is the stock 2004 GMC Yukon XL 2500 mirror that comes with the trailer package. It extends out electricly, is remote controled, heated and has the turn signal in it.

It is not quite the same as the one pictured in the pdf.

Bowhawk...I don't have any mirrors like your style to be able to help you at this time...I would assume the mount is similar though in the way it works...as far as the glass being held to the motor....as the one that Mike posted the link to...

Yeah, as Travis mentioned, the glass is pretty much universal on the attachment...if the housing was damaged, then that is a different story.

Thanks gents.

No Problem! The 800's Series GMT Mirror Glass Pretty Much Mounts the same.....there are clips that hold it to what I would call the Puck....the GMT 900's are a different story though as they are held on with what I'd describe a fork like mount..
