I've never had it but I know people who have and it can take a while to get fully over it. Hopefully thats not the case for you. I guess "enjoy" your time off.

At least that's all she gave you. :):D

That is a drag though man. Here's to getting better soon

Everyone has mono in their system, stress and exhaustion can cause it to flare and take over your body. The "high" levels of mono will stay in your system for a while until your neutrophils plateau.

just a update i just spent 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital... my tonsils are so swollen it is extremely difficult to drink and i haven't been able to eat for 24 hours now..

Mon does suck. I had it when I was younger. Being off school was OK, but the fact that I couldn't play hockey due to the swollen spleen was brutal. Good luck getting healthy.

My sister in law got mono about a month ago. She was miserable for a long time. Then they found out to go along with mono, she had strep throat. She spent a couple nights in the hospital. In college one of my friends spent almost a week in the hospital with a severe case of mono. Hopefully your case won't be that bad.

Get lots of rest, and no making out with anyone for at least... 20, no maybe 30 minutes.

i felt terrible all morning i only slept a couple hours and was up with very very bad sore throat.. i ended up going to see my chiropractor and he adjusted a bone in my neck that always likes to move out of place. he had me come in again later in the day and cracked/adjusted another 5 bones in my spine and neck. he mentioned that a C1 in my neck will really help speed up the recovery and that is the bone that is always out of whack in my neck its like the very top bone going into your skull..

i am feeling pretty good right now, i was actually to eat something in the past 24hrs, it was only like a 1/4 box of macaroni but at least i was able to get something down, and i ended up drinking 38oz of liquids today, at the hospital i had a hard time drinking 10oz on my own but i was also hooked up to a IV for 3 days as well so i didn't get dehydrated.

i am pretty convinced im heading a good direction right now and i really think that my spine being aligned and healthier is really helping out..

just thought id share but i have been going to this chiropractor for almost 7 years now and its amazing how much better you can feel and how fast you can heel..

Sorry to hear about you not feeling well, feel better soon.

And I second the chiropractic adjustments...They can truly do wonders and feel amazing!! :sigh:

so i haven't seen my truck in 14 days since I've had mono cause its parked in our lower garage so today i felt good enough to let it run for about 20 min to make sure the battery doesn't die, I'm hoping in the next couple days i have enough in my to wash it :sigh:

btw its been 14 days of hell i should have gone in and got checked out 4 days before i did so the anti-inflammatory drugs would have kicked in sooner..
