I have a 2004 Yukon 2500 4wd with 8.1L engine. I use it mostly for towing and it does a great job but it rides very hard. It has AUTORIDE but it doesn't seem to any effect with or without my trailer I can take the fuse out and disable the system and it rides better. My extended warranty runs out in Sep and I am determined to do something. I took it to my GMC dealer recently and they agree that it seems to ride unsually hard but could find nothing wrong. Has anyone had this problem? Did I waste $$$ on the Autoride.

I have the same truck, and was going to lift it just a little, so when i cameto the shocks at $349 a pair i was just going to eliminate them. I guess you can go to the dealer and they can reprogram the BCM so the truck thinks it doesnt have autoride, and just put regular bilstein or rancho shocks. i feel its a 2500 truck with a bigblock so i dont mind if it rides like one.Let me know what you found and what fuse you played with to check it.

I dont know about the 2500 but the dealers wont program the autoride out on a 1500 because its tied to all the other systems and they claim more than just the shocks are different. They also claim its illegal to disable any safety device. You might see if your extended warranty will cover new autoride shocks and at least get a new set even if you are going to replace them. Mine has cover all 4 shocks the compressor and a new module. I know the 2500 are different though.
