I own a 1500hd it's a 2006. I've been eye balling procharger kits for the 6 litre. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions? I have different exhaust on it and that's it not lookin for anything crazy. Just mild boost like 5-7 lbs. I've done a bit of engine internal work but never blowers or turbo's.....any thoughts on. This????????

also lol...i dont want a roots style blower, i just wanna go with something belt driven. i live way up north in canada. sometimes its below -40 celcius for a week at a time. so this has to be able too function in the cold weather i.e. have oil cooler lines or in other words be lubricated. i dont have much experience on this forced induction. if anybody has done this or has any experience first hand at dealing with it some imput would be greatly appreciated thanx

I had a pro charger supercharger on my 1995 Camaro, and it was great. The one major thing that I did that helped me out was to actually call them and ask alot of questions. They helpped to clarify my thoughts and man me understand what to expect. On my car I upgraded the radiator, beefed up the Transmission, and had the computer "tuned". I also never ran slicks as my 10bolt would have snapped at the extra power that the car made. All in all I loved it, but understand that the "system" will cost alot if done properly, just slapping on a blower and thinking its all good is way overly optimistic. You have to insure all supporting systems can handle the extra heat, power, and overall abuse that the truck will go through. I hope this helps.

Ya I did call them. I asked a bunch of questions but they are salesman they just tell you want you wanna hear you know LOL. My main concern is the cold weather. It's really cold here in the winter and that seemed to have no effect. The pro charged system for my truck with the injectors, tune, blower and inter cooler will run me about 5500. Which isn't that bad I thought it would be more. I think the truck can take it. It's got a 14 bolt rear end, 4l8oe tranny I think runnin some mild boost wouldn't hurt nothing if I don't change pulleys. The kit was 4600 without the PCM tune that they offer. Should I get the tune or get one done elsewhere?? I should get justin too do it. From BB

Roots blowers are belt driven.... the only ones that aren't, are turbos.

That being said, we are very happy with the Magnacharger results on our vehicles.

So the tune is a extra $900 bucks?? That is quite a bit, but you have to ask what does that include? If its a dyno tune that is okay, but if its just a PCM swap and core return that is too much. I would say if the kit includes all the stuff you said for $4600 except the tune its not bad. My one suggestion is to get the largest intercooler upgrade you can. I had a two core and it was good, but a 3 core or bigger would have been great. Also our truck engine bays are so much easier to work in than my Camaro, you should have no problem slapping it on the motor and getting things right.

I would then talk to a tuner to get your PCM tuned for about 2-300 bucks. I have my truck tuned by Charlie Wheatley about 2-1/2 years ago and he did a great job. I have seen alot of good things from BB, but I do not have any experance with them personnaly so I can't say anything about their work, only that I have not seen any bad reviews on the different truck sites I am on. As for the cold weather just make sure you get the truck up to proper temps before you hammer on it. I was in Eau Claire WI for 2 years and I made sure my Camaro was warmed up good before I hammered on it. Don't forget the trans, water, rear end, and oil all have to be up to operating temp, not just the oil and water. Also in the colder temps 30-40, the car would have even more power, but traction became a issue, it sure was alot of fun! I hope this answers your questions, if you have any more I will be happy to help the best I can.

I have a 2002 2500HD with a procharger 8# boost. It will cost a min. of $8000. total. There is alot of things you can do to your truck for $8000. A supercharger is the most over priced under delivered item going.
