Inside Door Handle Not Working

My drivers side door "inside" handle is not functioning properly any more. You really have to pull on it anymore to get it to open the door. It has gotten worse over the past few months to where it doesnt really work anymore (have to roll down window and use outside latch to open door). I have sprayed wd-40 around the latch mechanism and that doesnt help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Replace your handle, your GM dealership most likely has one in stock. Takes about 15-20 Min's to do.

I would check your local aftermarket parts store before you go to the dealership. I know the parts store I work at has one in stock, and they usually cost a whole lot less than one from a dealership.

Pop the door panel off to see what is going on for sure. It may be the linkage from the door handle that is having the problem.

Your symptoms are exactly what mine did. Napa, Autozone, they all should stock the drivers side.

Happened to my wifey's Burb too.I went to our local Pick-A-Part and found a good one for $5.

Do this. The same thing happened on my '89 Nissan Sentra. I just took apart the inside of the door panel, soaked the lock mechanism in WD-40 for about a day, reset the part that connected it to the handle and it came out like brand new.

this is a big problem with this type of truck. im on my 5th one. i get them from an auto wrecker so its cheaper but most of the time he says they are sold out because he has people coming in everyday looking for them. so i have had to buy a few new ones. the first time i changed on it took about 40 minutes. i can do it in about 10 now

I must have alot to do with the driver. I know guys that go through several, others that have never had a problem. Maybe take it a little easier when opening the door......
