When I got my SD, I got it because it had the power, and the luxury. And, it was the "Denali"... the best of the best in GM pick-up's. And that power was supplied by the 6.2l Vortec.. one beast of a engine. It was the most powerful pick-up on the market back in 07, but now? Everthing practically has it. The SLT Sierra CC, the LTZ Silverado CC, the Tahoe, the Yukon, the Escalade, and the Hummer H2 (Which aint around with us no more :uhoh: )

Now I could possibly understand the Escalade having it (It has the 6.0 when the Denali had it as well in the NBS,, and in the poll if you think that the 6.2 should be in slade too, vote yes), but not practically every GM truck and SUV. Then I hear that GM is going to replace the 6.0 vortec max with the 6.2????

Look, IMO, the Denali is marketed as the luxury GM truck. They say it themselves "Impressive power and luxury in a full sized truck." Now it is losing it's purpose if everything is going to get the bigger engine. Basically, soon enough, it will be nothing more than a SLT with a lot of options.., just with the "Denali" badges and grill...

really? again?

i thought you got your point across in this thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...=99072&st=0

Denali is now a "trim" package, just like Z71. They both used to mean something... but not so much anymore.

Doesn't bother me though. Would it be nice if the 6.2L was still specific to the Denali lineup? Of course, its always fun to have a little bit of bragging rights. But oh well.

The way I see it now:

More trucks come with the 6.2L = more 6.2L's out there = more 6.2L's getting modded = more aftermarket/experience for the 6.2L's

Yeah. Again. And yeah, Really. And no, I didn't get my point across in that thread. I was just messing around with Jeff about his 6.0.

None of you get the point.

I think we get it, but just don't agree with it.

You still get all wheel drive, a different grill, different color interior and wood grain, different wheels. It is a trim package.

Elitist prick much? :uhoh:

Elitist prick? Haha.

Yeah I am a prick because I want GM's Denali Nameplate to still have a larger purpose that it once had? Yeah, ok.

And four wheel steer....niether that or the all wheel drive is considered trim., so I gotta disagree with ya there. Ad the Z71....the ony thing trim about that package is the decal.

All that said I don't agree with keeping that great motor in the Denali only. Wanna be exclusive? Swap in an LS6 or LS7...no one else will have done that right?

+1

Some people (myself included) prefer the non-Denali trucks that have a real 4x4 transfer case instead of AWD. WTF shouldn't we have the 6.2 available.

This thread is a strong contender for the DTOTY award. :uhoh:
