Bds Or Rough Country?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking at lifts for awhile now and have narrowed it down to either the BDS High Clearance lift or the Rough Country Non-Torsion Bar Drop kit. Is the extra .5" inch really worth $600 more? I know the quality is most likely better but I don't know if that will really be a huge factor if I rarely go off-road?

Any opinions or help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I was actually exactly in your shoes two weeks ago! I was looking at the rough country non torsion bar lift for the longest time. But then after doing my research and people's reviews, BDS just stood out. They have lifetime warranty and no fine line lifetime parts. If something breaks, they send you out a new part no questions asked. If you would wait a couple weeks, I'll have my bds installed. And I'll give you a review on my lift. The BDS looks to be better made, offers higher clearance, with the angled crossmembers. But for the price, i don't think you could go wrong with the rough country. I just thought for the long run, this trucks going to be my toy. And i might as well go with something that will last. With lifetime warranty, they must know their product is high quality and they don't expect to have to replace anything. So, that's why i went with BDS.

Good luck with your purchase.

I won't be buying the kit for some time, so I will be looking forward to what you have to say about it! And your right, the warranty alone could make it all worth it. With the amount of money going into something like this, you might as well pay more for the peace of mind. Everything I've read about BDS has been good so far, with mixed reviews about Rough Country.

Decisions, Decisions.

Look for my post on my installation of their 3" kit on my truck, didn't fit or work correctly and the only two options they gave me was to return for refund or replace with another junk kit, I returned it in the BDS box to make a long story short. There are several people on this site that have had major issues with their kits and service so it's not just my opinion but my personal experience with RC that brings me to that conclusion!!!
