jonaddis84 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Was the allison transmission offered as an option in '05 on a 2500hd with the 6.0L in CCSB trim? If so is there any way to tell from the vin? This dealership claims you couldnt get it with the 6.0 but my '05 6.0L 3500 has an allison tranny. If not, how is the standard tranny for the 6.0L? This truck has 110k on it, anything I need to worry about? Thanks.
dewfpo Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 The Allison was only behind the Dmax and the 8.1L gasser in the HD series pickups. DEWFPO

96chevy7.4L Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Yes its prob the 4L80 transmission. If so put a bigger transmission cooler on it. Whether you tow or not those transmissions do NOT like heat. Your wallet will love you in the end. Just my opinion.
