Firestone Destination At Vs. Wrangler Or Duelers

Wow I don't see much tire talk here, but I'm just considering new rubber, just going stock size 265/75. Wondering if anyone has opinions on these tires. TIRERACK.com opinions rate these in the top 5 tires.

Anybody been offroad with the Cooper Zeon LTZ's? Locally, the Destination A/T's are about the cheapest option with the "buy 3, get 1 free" deal going on at Firestone now but the Zeons aren't much more expensive. All those other recommendations are at least $200 more a set where I've checked.

Careful with the Destinations. There are two seperate versions of the AT. One is a P rated and one is the LT version. The P rated one is very cheap and the load rating does not match the trucks we own Look at the price of the LT versin and they run the same as the better tires mentioned above. My buddy did a simple test with his wifes durango and his Ram to prove my above theory last month when he was looking for tires;

1 Dodge Ram 1500 (4.7) LT Version

1 Dodge Durango (Hemi) P Version

A simple swapping of wheels and tires both 265/70/17 produced a softer ride on the P rated tires and a better much more controlled feel with the LT's on his RAM. Simple test yes but with a 2000 pound trailer attached and both tires being the same it was a great way to feel the difference.

Decided to go with the Cooper Zeon LTZ's from a local shop. It came a big rain right after I left the shop and I was worried about them being slick because of the mold release stuff but they had plenty of grip on wet roads. It didn't rain back near my house and these handle much better than the Goodyear Eagle LS2's on dry pavement too. The truck just flows through turns at a speed that had the Eagles squealing and drifting. Don't know how they'll do offroad, but I'm very pleased with how they work on wet and dry pavement. They are noisier than the Eagles at 65-70 mph but not too bad. The Eagles only had 10k miles and plenty of tread so it was kind of a shame to replace them but they were useless offroad and not all that great onroad either.

Would you post some more pics of your truck with these tires. I would like to see how they look overall. They look pretty neat as they are. I've got 40K on my original set, so it is definitely time to replace them. Thanks!

I have 285 70R 17 Firestone Destination A/Ts on my stock 06 Silverado Z71 alloy wheels. While these tires look fantastic, they sure don't ride worth a darn and the road noise is unbearable. I realize this is only my opinion but I'm wanting to go with a new set of 20" wheels and much quieter tire combo, like maybe a Michelin ...
