Can anyone tell me why I should not use the power to my sunroof, to run a Valentine1 radar dector. I have a 2007 Sierra Denali, I am using the hardwire kit that comes with the Valentine1. I want to use their power crimp attachment to take power from the sunroof, and ground on screw in the roof. If any one can tell me why this is a bad idea, I would greatly appreciate it.

Andy, have you looked into an Invisicord? Check out their site. It has a gallery/install section with the connections that have to be tapped in to. That should work whether you use their product or not.

Hey guys, thanks for the great information. I have purchased the hardwire kit for my 8500 and need some help figuring out how to get the plug down from the rearview mirror. I do plan on using the wiring information from the invisacord website referenced above, but can't seem to get the C6 plug down. Any assistance you can provide would be great!

I dont see why there would be a problem as long as it has keyed power and a ground to it.. I put my radar in the top left corner of my windshield and ran the cord down the Pillar and taped into a fuse and there is a nut there for a ground too (fusebox on driver side) cause I didnt want cords hanging everywhere..
