Bed Cover Recommendations Or Warnings

I just bought a 2009 Sierra 2500HD ext cab long box dmax. Love it so far!

I need a bed cover. On my old truck, I bought one made by Advance. It was solid plastic, in four hinged sections that you could fold open in either direction, one or more sections. I liked it for one reason, but there were four little things in the end that combined to convince me not to buy it again.

So now I'm looking for suggestions for something that will be fairly easy to open and close and will be pretty water tight except maybe in a hard driving rain, when I suspect that not many of them at all will be completely tight.

I've seen some of the soft rubber types with covered wagon thingies under them, and some without. I'm not sure of the pros and cons of either one. I live near Pittsburgh, and frankly I don't expect a huge amount of snow buildup on top of it, so I'm not sure why I'd want the covered wagon look.

Any thoughts either way will be helpful, and thanks in advance.

I'm a big fan of the extang full tilt. Of all the soft covers, this has been my favorite. There was another thread on this... several good ones were posted as well.

I'm very happy with my Extang Tri-fecta cover. It's very quick and easy to take off if needed.

Do you have the snap or snapless version? If you have the snap version, do you have to flip the snaps every winter and summer?

I've been very happy with my Fold-A-Cover. It has the 4 hinged sections, a lock in the rear and a lock in the front section. The way it's designed, the tailgate won't open unless it is lifted up, preventing the need for a separate tailgate lock (maybe all bed covers have this effect?). In any case, the locks have a built-in rubber cover that go over them to keep dirt out, and the thing just won't leak. Even in a hard rain, zero water in the bed. I love it. What I would not recommend though, is using a high-pressure car wash wand on it, because of the textured finish, the paint can flake. If you don't spray 1500psi directly on it, you will not have this issue. Would definitely buy again.

Access cover I wouldn't have anything else. Truxedo is pretty much a copy.

x2... I have had one on the past 4 vehicles... I have done the Lorado.
